I get that, but if dollars are equal in TB, TO, DET and BUF let's say, my Q was more around "why Detroit"?

Not sure if you're familiar with Bob McCown (fairly well respected, long time TO sports radio guy...really dialed in to the management types) tweeted yesterday that he believes MLSE has $3.5M in endorsements lined up outside of his SPC that will be a part of their pitch to him this week, assuming they didn't already meet. Will be interesting, but very "Lou".

They have to be very careful with this. There are rules in the CBA, but beyond that I think there is that catch-all clause about not doing anything to circumvent the cap.

If what McCown says is true, I am thinking they might want to vet this with the league before they go ahead.

Yeah, that was a bomb, but you can't say he's not well connected. Especially on the management side of this business.

To be fair, the only "denial" from Bautista or the Jays on that one was that his tourney was moved as opposed to cancelled...not that Jose expected to be traded pre-deadline. That one will prove out in the next month.

Of course you could never formalize anything, but you could give a very strong indication of what's available. I fully expect Uncle Lou to work his magic on that one.

Honest to God...we headed down to Wilkes-Barre to catch a Baby Pens game at the end of the year and the wife and kids had to pee in Buffalo after we crossed the border...at 10AM on a Friday do you think you could find any sort of coffee shop, restaurant...anything open downtown off the interstate? Nope. Had to duck into the Hyatt after driving around for 10 min, and let me tell you, that downtown needs a face lift. Bisons stadium is cool though.

These athletes travel around N.America living the high life.. Toronto is a world class city, Buffalo will never be in that league..
