exactly... his odds of making the team lay solely in his offseason training

Lou also said he prefers to bring players up later than sooner

I'm an bumhole which gives me the proper perspective on this issue. If somebody tells me to quit my job, eat lean meats and veggies all summer, and hit the gym twice a day and in return they'll hand me a million bucks and let me play hockey for the Leafs - which in turn will allow me to drive fast cars and date the hottest women I've ever known (and their mothers) ........consider it done.

I belief in you Mitchy!

Id rather 3 scoring lines and 1 checking line...

but have the 3rd line as a scoring/shut down line..

Have the 4th line for penalty killers.. no goons.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

none of the guys you mentioned are goons tho

also... unless you are the oilers most teams recognize its flawed thinking to have too many kids on the roster... even LouLams said once that at most he feels comfortable with having a third of the roster as younger players... and that was his upper limit

In other Leafs news, they just announced the fall lineup for LeafsTV. A couple of interesting new shows:

- Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Leafs Edition. Watch Leafs players answer hockey trivia questions to win huge sums of cash that do not count against the salary cap.

- Deal or No Deal: Stamkos Edition. A new twist on a classic game show. There are two suitcases. One filled with $5 million. The other filled with $6 million. They are clearly labelled.

- Survivor: Robidas Island. Lupul, Robidas and Bernier will compete, but the show will never actually be seen. Forget I even posted this.

- Pot of Gold Leafs Dart Tournament. Watch Leafs players compete in a high-stakes dart tournament, with $50,000,000 in prize money.

- Atomic Wedgie

I literally LOL'd at the Deal or no Deal.

I think education allowance is also part of it.
- Aetherial

1 year of tuition for every year of service.

A friend's son just "graduated" from the OHL, and will be playing for Ryerson next year.

Who cares what Jays winning record is.....Im speaking specifically about Stroman
Here are the numbers for the last 7 starts
those are not great numbers.
Yes the team has saved in a couple of games.
A stint in buffalo is what he needs...besides, Hutch has deserved a call up.

Last seven games
W L ERA G GS SV IP H ER BB SO WHIP
2 3 7.03 7 7 0 39.2 54 31 14 28 1.71

Also, most baseball pundits agree that Romero's fall from grace was mental.

Because you keep saying if you start him its a guaranteed loss...which clearly its not.

I think Rychel may surprise. I base this only on watching him in Guelph many times.
I am surprised he did not flourish in Columbus, and equally surprised that the Leafs got him for Harrington. That could turn out to be an excellent trade.

I expect Brown on the team. I am not sure Nylander makes it, but I suspect he does.

I can see Babcock pushing for the Leafs to sign Darren Helm. There's your 4C, if that's the case.

I think I read this draft analysis on 2 or 3 other Leafs sites...admittedly there couldn't be a ton of original content to write after draft weekend....no, that doesn't sound right. Must have been because of MiB's travel obligations to get home...no, wait...the B stands for Buffalo.

I think we're starting to see the nasty side of Leafs fans towards Nylander... 6 months ago he was called the top prospect not playing in the NHL... and now because apparently he didnt backcheck for a few shifts in the AHL playoffs the fans are suggesting he doesnt care.. Poor kid.. he might be our Backstrom

Helm will get 4 million or close to it - don't see the Leafs doing that unless they want him as #3 centre and can move Bozak out the door.

IMO helm is a downgrade from bozak.

be interesting to see what happens

barring any trades the leafs have 8 nhl contracts signed for next year (9 if you included horton)

lupul laich jvr kadri komarov bozak michalek and greening

add nylander and matthews and you are at 10

add marner and you have 11

that leaves one more spot for the game roster and a couple spots for guys who rotate in and out of the press box / lineup

i dont think you see the true youth movement for another year or so unless the leafs can find takers for bozak lupul greening etc

if bozak and greening are still on the roster come the deadline they will get moved for cheap assets... lupul has to prove he can play without getting injured for at least 3/4 of a season to have any trade value the following year.

his next window will be after the deadline day when teams who failed to sign their targeted free agents look at their plan B
