Yes but what if the flames offer Sam Bennett for vasy ?

Flames traded for Elliot so not likely they will seek another top goalie with the expansion draft next summer.

Stay with Vasy... the Bolts will not be able to pay Bishop over 7m after his deal expires next year. It comes down to the cap in my opinion, I hate to say it but Bishop is the one who will have to go.

Vasy will be a RFA after this year What do you think his Cap hit will be 4? 5? If Bish goes

Klingberg is way too much for Bishop. I could see Islanders over paying for Bishop and a draft pick for Okposo. Yzerman would be crowned if that happened. It's likely Stamkos is going somewhere else. Buffalo makes all the sense, but I wouldn't count out Islanders or Rangers. Toronto doesn't stand a chance. Killhorn and Kucherov will stay no matter what it takes.

And exactly what will Dallas do with 18 mil in goalies and no defense? They can move Niemi at 4.5 but who's taking Lehtonen at 6? Either way they still would have over 11 mil in goalies. They don't have a lot of room either and if we go with Vasy to protect one and save Cap money why take one of their goalies back, it doesn't clear very much for a year. Bish is at 5.95 and Vasy will be a RFA at the end of the year and expecting a hefty raise next year.

I really don't think Klingberg for an extended Bishop is that far off. Bishop was statistically the best goalie in the league last year and a Vezina finalist in 2 of the last 3 seasons. Dallas really needs D so I don't see it happening but it's not outlandish value.

He's signed for 6 at a great price why they hell would you move him?

Maybe they feel they need to go in a different direction defense wise, does seem crazy they would move him but what if it was say Bishop (extended) and Koekkoek (or Sustr) for Klingberg + draft pick or complementary player. Plus Nill likes to make big splashes during the offseason

No where near that number he is still somewhat unproven and a RFA. They could go with a bridge deal to say 2.5M similar to what John Gibson got or go longer term maybe 3-3.5 million on 6 years.

They really don't have anyone signed, Oduya - Benn On D needs a contract, Klingberg is their best D man that's signed long term at a great price. Someone to build around not trade, I don't know why they would do it but stranger things happen all the time

If Bish goes before the year and he's the no. 1 all year and the future goalie for the franchise I'd say we'd have to look a little higher than that, others would for sure. Depends on the type of year he had as the starter I guess.

Murray and Yzerman told us all we need to know about the Deangelo trade. They had Libor ranked as a high 1st rounder and didn't think he would make pick 44. Trading picks to move up was in their words "too expensive" so it had to be Tony moving to get what they felt was excellent value in the pick.

Did it have anything to do with attitude problems like some rumors are suggesting?

Jordie Benn signed a 3 year deal last week for $1.1M cap hit. Regardless, I don't think Dallas can trade Klingberg considering state of their defence corp.

Forsberg got $36m for 6 years...Kucherov get around the same? Forsberg had 63 and 64 points in his first two years, this year scoring 33 goals on an arguably worse offensive team. Kucherov had 64 and 66 points his first two full seasons, hitting the 30 goal mark this year. As a Lightning fan you would love to see less so we can sign more players but I think $6 per year is fair for Kuch and would love for that to happen.

Pretty sure attitude was a large factor. He was healthy scratched 8 or 9 times in the AHL. Also he is a smaller 1 dimensional defender who can score points but doesnt play well in his own zone.

They drafted him despite those attitude problems so I doubt very seriously those problems now became a problem. No they specifically mentioned the cost in picks to acquire the Yotes pick to grab Libor.

Al Murray (scouting director comments)

"Trade had to be Tony DeAngelo to get to that spot." Hajek plays a more well-rounded game than Tony. Doesn't have offensive ability of TD.

Hajek was the top guy on our board (at 37) that we really wanted to obtain and the trade had to be Tony Deangelo to get to that spot

Translation: They really liked Hajek. Brings a different more rounded skill-set than Deangelo. The cost in picks was too high vs the cost of trading Deangelo straight up. More than a few comments mentioned that they still really like Deangelo. In a way it can be construed further that they like Hajek more

Those scratches weren't attitude. They were trying to teach him to play in the defensive zone and he was scratched b/c he wasn't learning quick enough

He's getting $6 per. Tarasenko got that as well. Question is length and whether he is UFA or RFA at end of this deal

I am pretty sure some of it was attitude but they are not coming out and saying that. You don't just dump him that fast unless there were more to it then him not being able to play in his zone.
