Are there any truth to the reports that Auston Matthews is being inducted to the Hall of Fame today? |

I'm not a fan of Lucic, but he does bring an element to the team that they sorely lack. If they were to sign him you are getting a 20-25 power forward (that is starting to decline) that wont let anyone take liberties with the rest of the roster. The problem is you are going to get 2-3 meltdowns a year that will cost the team. - fiveandagame
That's just it, I get that he brings a physical presence and intimidation factor but with him it's not worth the baggage. He's going to be very slow in a couple years and a big contract to him would hurt when you can always acquire other players to be the physical presence on your team. |

I agree Juolive can contribute on offense, he just cant handle speed to the outside. The quicker Russians exposed him, so did the speed of the Huskies in the Mem Cup. You dont have to be a scout to see slow foot speed to the outside.
PS..most of these scouts are like sheep, look at the talent that never gets invited to WJ camp. How about Button, or Ron Delorem....bahaa....bahaa - Rocket8000
I watched Matthews play one time. A guy skated passed him. Then, one time Matthews fell down. Also, saw him try and drink from water bottle but it was upside down. What a terrible player.
Juolevi will be fine. But we ty for your efforts.

I also think Ladd is going to start declining shortly as well. Eriksson has concussion issues but is coming off a great season and has chemistry with the twins. I would like to see Boedker and Eriksson.
Sedin-Sedin-Eriksson
Boedker-Sutter-Hanson
You can line juggle Hanson and Eriksson and it would stil look good. |

I keep hearing the names Boedker and Helm as targeted UFAs. Thoughts? Where would they fit in? How much?
I see Helm 4 years 2.75
Boedker 5x5.5
Helm 4 th line C 2 way player.
Boedker 2 nd LW. Plays with Hamsen and Sutter
Sedin Sedin Burr
Boedker Sutter Hansen
Sven Bo Rodin
JV Helm Dorsett - VANTEL
Ive been preaching Boedker for months - he's similar to Eriksson but hasn't broke out of his shell yet - a year with the Sedins/Sutter/Bo and that would change drastically (I hope)- plus he's young, cheaper and has way room for growth and development. However, if we sign him - we definitely need a Ladd, Okposo, Brouwer player to fit into the 2nd line - basically a more developed version of Virt.
Lucic and Eriksson makes the team better in some ways - but the contract, term, age, potential for decline and liability for PIMs(Lucics the hot head) and injury (Eriksson concussions) are big liabilities that can be avoided. Either way we're at an exciting cross roads for this team and what JB does in UFA signings this summer will be big moving forward.

The biggest thing, for me, about Lucic is he just turned 28 years old, which is really important when you're signing a free agent. Not to mention he's been fairly healthy his whole career.
The one issue I see is if they put him on the second line with Sutter they'll need a passer on that line, because Sutter is not a good setup guy, he's terrible at puck distribution. Which makes him a poopty second line center. |

I'm not a huge fan of RNH but he's what the Canucks need moving forward. Not sure what it would take (shouldn't be too much) to get him. His contract is okay, but the oilers are ducked paying Eberle and Nuge $6m for 6 years. Lol.
Hansen and a 2nd should get it done. |

Putting him with the Sedin's would solve that. I'm just not sure he is fast enough mentally to play with them. He would look good in front of the net on the PP though. |

We go there every summer. Words & pictures don't do it justice. Very scenic island and a quick day trip to Alert Bay is easy, as well. |

The Oilers are in trouble. Every other team knows they are desperate for defense so they are sticking it to them. Asking Hall for Shattenkinrk. It will be interesting to see if Chirelli buckles and gets help on the back end or we see the same lottery pick Oilers again this year. |

Lots of BC boys are ufas. Let's take the leafs mentality that anyone from Ontario wants to play for the leafs and take a discount.
Sedin Sedin Brouwer
Ladd RNH Lucic
Baertschi Horvat Virtanen
Gaunce Granlund Dorsett |
