The UFA interview period started, #Canucks were busy, they called agents for Eriksson, Boedker, Helm & Ridge Meadows native Andrew Ladd. - hillbillydeluxe
I hope they don't spend to the cap.
Does the addition of Gudbranson and subtraction of Hamhuis make our D better or worse next year? |

I feel a little hesitant about Eriksson, but he scored 30 last season.
we need scoring and Eriksson fits that bill. don't want the 6 or 7 year term though.
who else can we sign to produce like that? - hillbillydeluxe
The next closest would be Okposo but still because its UFA there will be an over payment regardless in money and years and thats not a knock on Benning thats just how UFA works

I think it makes us harder to play against for sure.
If Hutton doesn't have that second year slump, our d is better.
Edler Tanev
Hutton Gudbranson
**** Tryamkin
rotating in Sbisa, Biega, Pegan or trading one of them...

He was brutal early, but fine after he came back from having his face destroyed. He's still got some good hockey in him I think, but he won't be playing it for the Canucks. |

He's lost a step. He's here for leadership now. Back to his roots of killing penalties and there for the younG guys. Can move him up and down the line up |

Yeah, it seems that broken bones in the foot for older guys is a career death nail, Burrows, Higgins, Prust. |

And yet a bunch of scouts think he's the top D in his draft year. Weird how your keen perception caught all this when nobody else did. I think you need to send your resume to NHL teams because your talents are being wasted on a hockey blog. - bazz
I agree Juolive can contribute on offense, he just cant handle speed to the outside. The quicker Russians exposed him, so did the speed of the Huskies in the Mem Cup. You dont have to be a scout to see slow foot speed to the outside.
PS..most of these scouts are like sheep, look at the talent that never gets invited to WJ camp. How about Button, or Ron Delorem....bahaa....bahaa

I agree with all of this, I would be OK with seeing him back, but it looks like I'm donating $20 to Vantels charity because he's going elsewhere. |

I'm quite impressed by your keen observation skills, especially where no other highly regarded and experienced scout that is employed by actual NHL club or outside sports organization took into account.
You have a bright future ahead, please keep us informed of your future insights. I'm also sure there will be several other hockey professionals waiting for your assessment and analysis. |

I'd be okay having him back as well, I think he's got a lot to give still. The problem is I know that he's going to get paid more than he's worth for longer than he should be and I would be cursing that contract before it was over. If the Canucks signed him for four years he'd be where Burrows is in two.

Ive always liked hammers play....but prob is now, where do you put him?
If larson juolevi or stetcher manage to make the team it would take the final spot.
As much as I like Hammer and see his value in returning nt really seeing a spot for him, barring moving someone out. |
