They are, but if you were there that day, you could look around and find four separate cars.

Agree with the whole article except the Murray comments. This guy is a fantastic gm. He has rebuilt his team from a garbage pile and I see buffalo pushing for a playoff spot this year easily.

He needed a LHD and got him. Kulikov is not a bad player. He's actually a fairly decent one. Pysk is still a question mark, and is not going to be a game breaker at any rate. People put too much stock in the advanced metrics of sheltered players. Weirdo in Ottawa and franson in Toronto being very strong examples of this.

The cost of shatty was evidently too prohibitive and the 6mil + to resign him makes no sense for buffalo at this point in time. The Kane addition is the one question mark, but the bogo for Myers trade off isn't nearly as much of a drop off as people are saying it is.

Not to mention, stafford had all but quit playing anything that resembled hockey for buffalo and needed to go.

At best, Kulikov is a 6th dman, and at worst, so is Pysyk. But I guess you can find some good in what Murray's done. But given what Andersen and Jones cost, that Lehner trade is embarrassing and I would rather have Tyler Myers than Kane or Bogosian. Although I think if he could stay healthy Evander Kane could be a great player.

A left handed number 6. An area of need for buff. Fair enough on the Myers>bogo, but would you rather Myers over bogo+Kane? That's what the trade has boiled down to. Stafford was UFA. He was leaving. Armia is still up for debate, but doesn't seem like he's going to match Kane.

Gotta give to get. Not to mention that Myers was part of the old guard in buff and I think Murray wanted to clean house. Think Lou and Shan in TO. Some decent players from the nonis and Burke era. Just not their players.

Bogo plugged that top four spot and Kane was the real add. We added white with the lehner pick I believe? Looks good for us now but bottom 10 first round picks are not high value. If Lehner had been healthy this year, I think it would look a little better.

You don't win them all but one suspect trade, a bad gm does not make.

There's 20 other gms in this league I would put lower than Murray. Murray's got the cahones to at least risk something to move his team ahead.
