Man, after reading over these posts realise how good it is to live in the greater Pittsburgh area. In all honesty, I don't hate either of these teams and hope both can turn it around. However, Garth REALLY makes me want to root against Buffalo.

In the end who cares...Stamkos will probobly end up back in Tampa unless a team over pays. Then, the overpaying team is the loser anyway.

Get off the Babcock kick...it's old news. If there is a hole to fill Murray will go and try and fill it with the biggest name available but Babcock is no god...what has he really done WON ONE CUP!!!! So has Julien, Sullivan, Blysma and so on...and he had damn good teams in Det so in my mind he isn't the end all of coaches. He used Buffalo to jack up his big payday...mission accomplished...good for him. Players win cups not coaches...Pittsburgh is a prime example as they changed coaches mid season and won the cup on two occasions.

As for Stamkos, I hope he signs in Toronto as he will strap a team cap wise no matter where he goes, plus he is a blood clot away from retirement. I'll take Vesey and Okposo over signing Stamkos and that would still leave 5 mil to improve the team elsewhere.

No, I said it would leave 5 mil to spend elsewhere considering 12 mil is the number being thrown around for Stamkos, 6 Mil Okposo and approx. 1 mil Vesey. I have no anger except people go so far off course on this board...Tor is a beautiful city but who really cares if Buffalo offers 12 mil and Tor 10 where does a player go 99/100 times.

The team is old and Babcock probably saw this which might be an underlying reason besides money that he left. If it's about winning the cup then all 3 teams leave a lot to be desired for the next couple of years if not longer.

2nd worst right there. I watched alot of Knights games this year because of Marner and the possibility of Tkachuk being a leaf pick. That guy they took is not a number 1 dman. He rode the coat tails of a sick offensive team.

I agree. Didn't see the big deal. I don't really care who gets Vesey but I'm hoping toronto passes. Just don't see room or a fit for him on the team. They have enough prospects to play.

I am sure you can speak for the entire city of Toronto. I played college ball with a lot of Canadians (some from TOR), who often come down to Buffalo. They like the shopping here and change of scenery, regardless of the stereotype. Toronto is a great city. Buffalo is on the rise again and a very modest city. Why do you insist on competing which city is better? It's a simple opinion that lacks validity. I am sure you helped build Toronto from the ground up, so I understand your relentless pride.
