Interesting that ALL 3 of those "kids" were 24. - John Jaeckel
Pens had the better bottom 6 and played the best hockey in the East for the second half of the year as well...When Hertl got hurt SJ was toast.

He never hits anyone WRONG
He never attacks anyone (Keeping the other team honest ) WRONG
He almost never touches the puck WRONG
I wish he could be a useful 4th liner but he just isnt . - mrpaulish

Since CapFriendly does not have the signings yet...I had to put placeholders in there. So Baun is really Mashinter and Schilling is actually Rozy. But with these guys in it gets you both Campbell and Staal at 2 Million each. Every penny counts so these signings could help in that regard. 22 man roster.

Mash?! There was zero rush to sign him now. How bout Fleischman Stan? It ain't looking good people. And now Rozy resigned? He had no legs 2 years ago!!

Does Roszival get another fracking gingerbread man bonus for games played on this deal too?

That is exactly what it will be.
Rozy is done and Mash is a wasted roster spot. Spin will be the hawks need LW depth. |

@MarkLazerus thinks the signings actually add flexibility:
Cheaper than entry-level deals for top prospects. Extra $600,000 or so could be the difference for signing Campbell. |

Rosi I like as a mentor and countryman for Kempny at #7D. Mashinter inked in permanent marker at 4LW...seriously frank that bullpoop. We now know who really runs this show...Joel Quenneville. |

Horrible signings. Horrible roster decisions. Poor management.
All of the above.
It's getting increasingly difficult to remain positive about this team.... |

Mashinter makes no sense as he is TERRIBLE. Roszival I can actually stomach as a 7th and mentor to Kempeny. Roszival is also good in his own end and PK. Not bad to have against some of the heavier teams in the West.
IF we sign Campbell, we are very deep at defense. I think the deeper our defense becomes then the more expendable Corey Crawford becomes. Market pending.
Need a LW. Bad.
Also the elephant in the room is production from Toews. At 10.5 million, he needs to bring his linemates up in the way that Kane does. |

Campbell or no Campbell it won't matter on a team with only 8-9 effective NHL caliber forwards. The forward depth is looking nightmarish. |

Like the rest of the league watching the Hawks parade 3 times?
Kane OT winner in Philly
17 seconds in Boston
Cup win at UC for first time in decades---
Lets see what plays out here-- I never underestimate the core players we have-- my guess is that they will come back with a purpose and determination-- rested and ready--
Now Bowman and Q have to earn their pay to fill out the roster with more speed, more size and more compete-- on a budget--- |

This. The roster has to have 22/23 guys, so the fact is Rozy @ $600K and Mash @ $575K means more cap space for other guys (like Campbell). Give Q his Mash and Rozy toys to play with - they won't mean beans when it comes to success or failure.

As long as you have Dusty Baker on the bench AND calling the shots on personnel, no young talent will ever crack this lineup. |

Don't know. U just spent a mill on 2 guys with nothing. Well Mash never had it and Rozy is just worn out. We need youth and speed. And Stan comes home with an 83 Yugo with the check engine light on. |

Totally agree. Also firmly in the "there's still a lot of hockey left to play" here -- the roster is not done. |
