"Failing that..." means if they fail to resign Ladd, they will reach out to McGinn to replace him. - BDT36
McGinn is going to want about the same money as Shaw. They may sign him but he isn't coming cheap.
Would be cheaper then Ladd though.

Ur right...But I read the other day there is basically no one left that Bowman has drafted, except for this draft.
At the time of the salary puke Morin was supposed the shiny star of the acquisitions. - Al
Its true as far as the NHL goes. That will change once the season starts. |

I'd like to see one of Weise or Fleishman retained at about $1m-1.2. Think we're headed toward too many Rockford forwards. Could use a bit more veteran presence on the bottom 6. We could be looking at 3-4 rookies in the bottom 6 forward ranks. |

I agree it would be better to have them both. Given there have been no communications regarding either of them anywhere, they may be available for less than $1MM.
Weise said he wanted to come back to MTL, but with them picking up Shaw, I don't see it. |

Don't think Weise wants to come back. Fleischman would be a good utility guy to have on that 4th line. He can play on the PK too I do believe. |

I'd prefer to have Weise over Fleischmann, but I don't see him coming back to Chicago given how the situation transpired here for him. I would be fine with Fleischmann signing a one-year cap friendly deal. |

why would it be better?
Condiment hasn't been a useful player since 2011. Weise is just a guy.
Both had nice starts to the season in Montreal. Combined they had like 15 points over the last 50 games last season.
I rather they go with younger players. |

Shipachyov …
Elliotte Friedman: There were rumblings last night that Vadim Shipachyov, who originally thought would be able to come to the NHL until 2016-17, could be a possibility to now to come over before then.
Aivis Kalnins: Friedman’s report is correct, Shipachov has found a way to sign with a NHL team. Have gotten confirmation that Shipachov doesn’t require a buyout or have to terminate his contract in the KHL if it happens after June 30th. |

Ryan Stanton NOT qualified by WSH. Racking up quite the list of one time young Blackhawk D saviors. Stan has evaluated the D talent well, i'd say. |

Well, after drafting them. Better late than never, I suppose. Especially when you can get something useful in return. |

Al - how huge would it be to have a legit skate it into the zone option again from the blue line? Seems to me since Campbell and Leddy's departures it has been easier for teams to clog the neutral zone and stop the stretch passes without that backline puck handling. - Return of the Roar
Yep...I think it would be big and he is a better passer than others too...Can chip in on the PP too.
Looking at things realistically he would be the biggest feasible name without a bigger salary shipped out.

Meh. drafting 17-18 year old isn't an exact science. Some reach their peak at that age. some develop. |
