Boedker will disappoint you. He works some magic on the PP but otherwise seems at a complete loss a lot of the time. As an Oiler fan I ENJOYED having him in the Pacific from a matchup standpoint.
If he is all that's available then that's fine. But I certainly wouldn't pick him over the likes of say Hudler or even Stempniak.

I'm not really interested in boedker tbh. I think he's a 10-15 goal scorer and a third line guy, second line on a bad team.

He may have more to give if handed sweeter minutes and more skilled line mates, but be careful expecting too much. Bottom 6 players are easy to root for.

I might disagree, he's still young enough and may need a change of scenery. But will admit he doesn't play a lick of D but his skillset might be needed for isles team..

I love how these hockey experts talk like KO is the ultimate power forward and that he does all these things.

he's 26 and never cracked the 20 goal mark. I just don't see how he's really any better for us than grabner was, but at least grabner could kill penalties. He's going to get close to 4 mil per from someone who loses out on a bigger fish.

I agree with you that Casey hasn't hit his ceiling, but I think his ceiling is a 3rd line center and excellent penalty killer

So now i'll ask you, suppose he becomes a 25 goal a year guy, first PK, big faceoff guy, and continues to lead the team in offensive zone possession.........now what do you call him?

I wont give him a long term contract (for sure) but its almost seems like players are starting to get $4m on a 2nd contract. But maybe a change of scenery on a more talented team might benefit him.

Edit: Tippet is a defensive coach, probably didn't suite his skillset, Cappy's go-go system might be better for Boedker

I don't know...I think I'd prefer to be adding gritty guys like Chimera, Helm, Backes, Lucic... I know speed can't be taught and I wouldn't hate it if boedker was signed, but I think we'd be fooling ourselves expecting more than 10-15 goals out of him, and he may score less if he's not in the top six.

UFA Rankings on here are pretty amazing. Ok ranked 3rd will upset some on this board. Putting Vesey in front of Staal, Franz, Backes..etc. Is really aggressive.

You had me at Krieder.

You'd have to eat some of Girardi's $ though.

Doesn't upset me at all, we've seen enough of okposo to know what he is. He's a solid top six but I wouldn't pay him top line money.

9....10 whats the difference? He's averaging what 12 min a game, playing with Martin? Give him 20 min a night with more talent and he'll double his numbers.

I think a lot on here like Boedeker based solely on his potential. This team can't bank on maybes at this point.

KO is a solid 2nd line player. He is not a top line player.

His speed is what this team is sorely lacking. Two seasons ago we were fast and dominated possession. Last season we did not.

I admittedly liked Boedker initially, but the fact that he only produces on the PP is a bit scary to me. Not sure how well he would mesh with Tavares, either. I'd happily take him, but he can't be the one piece we add.

this is a pointless, frankly stupid debate. You have a guy who's been a 4th line guy and never scored 10 goals in a season possibly moving up to the 3rd line. Then we have your giant leap where the guy is going to score more goals than anyone not named JT or Brock Nelson if given more ice time.

If casey cizikas is playing 20 minutes a night for the Isles we're a lottery team.
