Just might be Vanek 2 - nyisles7
I'm saying no chance right now. Both sides would hate with a passion to go down this road. |

If you want to believe that no one knew your delusional !
He went to School at The U of MN. His wife is from there and his best friend Jason Pominville was there. They just signed Parise and Sutter the year before. But He definitely didn't have The Mn Wild in his cross hairs. Your right no one knew.
Vanek signing here this year has Snow written all over it. - nyisles7
My point if you read the whole post is quite often what "Everyone knows" turns out to be horsepoop. Just like "Everyone knows that Stamkos is Definitely signing with Toronto.." It's certainly possible but not 100%. Snow took a shot with the Vanek trade. It did not work out.. but as you just said it may be the reason He signs here now so maybe it works out in the end.. no?

Read the whole post and honestly I have no interest in Vanek. |

Agreed. His game is in decline. Even though he and JT jelled on offense the first time, neither played much defensively. What's up with his gambling debts? Could still be bad blood from his rejection of the Islanders' generous $50 MM offer. I doubt Snow wants him back.... |

JT and Vanek on the same line now would be party time for any line they were up against. |

we dodge a bullet with him rejecting our huge offer same when we dodge bullet when Boyle did the same. Vaneks game is in a huge decline. NO thanks now.

Maybe im in the minority here but I wouldnt offer him the league minimum. He embaressed the franchise by taking less money and going to a different team. Own it. Sorry pal......seats taken |

Lets look at this a little deeper and see how many bullets snow has dodged. Unfortunately they're all for the wrong reasons. He's offered how many guys big contracts who've not only turned him down but been busts. Seems to me he's got to be better at judging talent |

Eh, I knew and still didn't mind the Vanek deal. Mostly because I watch the Sabres a lot and always wondered what a Tavares-Vanek duo could do on the ice. Also, there was always a chance he'd want to stay after playing with Tavares, and Vanek said a few times since it was a great experience. It was a fun line to watch, and I don't think it crippled the franchise long term. Yeah, it definitely wasn't a good trade, but I don't think we're talking about Luongo trade territory here. The annoying posts from HB Sabres fans were probably worse than any lasting negative impact on the franchise. - UIF
I agree with this post in its entirety. I was on board with the trade since the day it was made. Now with that said I also expected Snow to follow up with more moves for the blue line. That to me is what made that trade ridiculously bad. How he expected the team do well with that blue line was inconceivable and completely negligent to the point it proved to me at least just how inept he is as a GM. It was like he felt he did a job well done and patted himself on the back and back into his hole he went.
It was an absolute joke thinking anyone would want to sign long term with that ineptitude on display clear as day with his jackarse buddy behind the bench. Keep blaming the building(not you), the commute, long islanders or whatever the (frank) else Snow fans can come up with and avoid the real issue.
Do you think us as fans are in on a big secret that Capuano is a (frank)ing chimp that should be working behind the counter at a Dennys instead of being an NHL coach? Do you think players around the nhl don't see this gong show and only we are privy to this info? Come on wake up boys who the (frank) would want to play for these guys it's face in palm embarrassing most nights the decisions these guys make and believe me players are very aware of this while Snow endorses it.
That's why players second guess coming here. Stop fooling yourselves. I remember when the training facilities were to blame Now we have what's considered the best in the league
The (frank)ing excuses are ridiculous if a player doesn't want to sign here it's because of everything we see and are already aware of get your heads out of your arses
Now I still say he does something but that doesn't change the way this orginization is viewed and if you think it's the building or the commute and not Snow himself and all of his buddies you're a few fries short of a happy meal and keep feeding at the BS trough with count (frank)ula Staple |

The talk was Garth did nothing that offseason and then made the Vanek trade and did nothing else like add D or a goalie or fire Cappy.
The Isles may need to move out Garth and Cappy just to get the Wang stink away from this team. If the Isles strike out again with FA's, we cannot look any further than Cappy and Garth. These two are the two biggest things that have not changed for years.

Common denominator for the teams successes
And why not just look at the impressive resumes they both had coming into their jobs. |

Yep. Come on already it was the coliseum and now it's the Barclay's center and the commute. (frank)ing excuses and always avoid what is the most obvious issue. Management. I don't get it? What other proof do some people need? Do you think these guys will talk in public about this shat? Halak mentioned he didn't like a 3 goalie rotation and look where it got him |

No, I am saying if he signs here instead of somewhere else because of that trade....AND it works out to be a great fit. Meaning He and JT go nuts and have a great season and playoff run.... Then it COULD work out.
My point was Snow made one aggressive move and the same people crying He doesn't do enough are still complaining about that trade.
Leddy, Boychuk, Halak, Greiss, Berube, Prince (for a 3rd)... Does he get any credit for any of these moves? |

You bring up a really good point. Isnt it truly amazing that we are sitting here now and already getting prepped for the next excuse. It used to be the old barn, then the training facilities etc. Now they're in a state of the art facility and now its already, the distance between the practice facility and the ice is bad. Seriously???? I would love to see what a different GM would have done with this group... |
