What player ( that's available) are you going to sign, or what FA are you going to sign that can play PP, PK, score 20 goals, play against the other teams best offensive line and Does a good job of it again chipping in 20 goals offensively. On top of that a very cerebral player. It's a big mistake IMHO to let him go.

What would they have traded for the first round pick? A #4 is not cheap

Did anyone else read the newest piece of rags**t written by Larry Brooks in the Post? Apparently, Nielsen turned down $5.5M per, the Islanders wont be able to draw any free agents because of the commute to Brooklyn, players won't sign with them because of the ice conditions in the playoffs and JT won't re-sign if the Islanders don't get him UFA help. I guess the Isles should just fold...

Going to be tough to add the #1 wing for JT if we give Frans 6 Mill nyisles7. The ice was a problem, but seemed better after they brought in some of the experts.

Here's the biggest question we all have to realize, besides Stamkos (not knowing his asking price) which FA is really worth $6m long term?? Some are deserving $6m but not long term (to me) which is why I don't really see any FA's coming here bc it will only hinder isles cap going forward. Hate to say it but if NO trades occur I could see 2nd tier players or even 3rd tier guys coming here just to fill out roster, Snow will continue to stay the course and coming off back 2 back 100pt season's and a 2nd rd PO is only proof that maintaining the plan is working (to management) but that's the fact until this team has an unsuccessful season w/Cappy at the helm.....

no more than 4.5 mil a season for me..love his versatility but add an extra year to the deal but we can't have his contract screw us out of a new winger for JT .

If Garth cannot sign any of the top FA's, he needs to be willing to move some of the young players and prospects. I really hope that Ledecky and Malkin are not going to want to hear any excuses. I hope they did not spend half a billion to be happy with the same old thing.

I agree. I thought Frans loved it here and the idea was he was going to take a little less? 5.5 is a very fair deal.

I was never a big fan of Frans myself, but I can see brining him back on a fair deal. 6 Mill is not a fair deal at all.
