Come on Capt. Those talented Russians drafted in later rounds by Snow that were steals have worked out unbelievably well for the Islanders.
Gotta think when Snow gets fired ( sooner the better for me ) he may wind up as a GM for a KHL team. - nyisles7
Kabanov is smoking baloney on a corner in Russia as we speak. The old low risk high reward picks has never worked out in how many years now?
How about a player over 5'11" from Canada that's deemed a safe pick at this point?
Snow will be Snow's down fall and rightfully so. He'll do something btn now and October but if it's not enough I see these guys getting rid of him and I will be a happy man. This team will never go anywhere with this guy behind the bench and he's not going anywhere until his friend gets fired. It's that simple can't turn a blind eye to the stupidity of our coach while he lost us another series with moronic coaching decisions. - Cptmjl
Right it is Snow since he hired Cappy just like it was Wang since he hired and could fire Garth. Garth will end up kicking himself for the Cappy hire. He could have gained more respect at least around the league if he hired a proven coach.
Staple talks about Snow like he is the sharpest GM in the league and has 5 rings on each hand
Nielsen signed to a 6 or 7 year contract?
Holy (frank)ing shat - Cptmjl
Now, it’s important to remember that Garth Snow doesn’t act with the overarching urgency that all us laypeople assume is required to be a general manager. He’s the Big Paulie of the NHL GMs -- he moves slowly because he doesn’t have to move fast for anyone.

Bottom line is this that this team will never win nothing until Snow and Cappy is gone.
The system they put into play does not work to well. This team needs a whole new change all together. Snow gets a C grade for what he has done. He has done great rebuilding our prospect pool but NHL level has not done much. I really hope these new owners have a half brain unlike Wang and see this sooner then later
Not much of a reach. Reinhart was 4th on some of the of mock drafts I saw back then. - JohnScammo
I remember him being thought of as an outside the top ten pick. I also remember him literal being described as a reach at 4. That's ok we picked 7 other defenseman in that draft

I'm with JS on this one...I remember hoping they'd pick Reinhart exactly because he was the safe, defensively responsible pick with size that we always seem to pass on.
I don't have too many issues with Snow's drafts. Actually, I think he's been better making the tougher picks outside the top 5 and in later rounds than he's been picking in the top 5.

Yeah I don't know maybe I'm remembering incorrectly? I did read in more than one outlet that he was a reach and I haven't seen too much success in any rounds at a consistent level. Plus, those top 5 picks are the ones you GOT TO hit on. That's the whole point of sucking it up to get the team better through the draft.

Our most solid position. After this draft we'll be most solid at LW.
Yeah, I remember him getting high grades for his size and his pedigree. Lots of guys in juniors don't skate well......especially big d-men. The thought is that they will improve their skating before they reach the NHL. Just hasn't happened with Griff.... Maybe the Oilers can teach him how to skate.
