If Stamkos walk (and he should), Yzerman did a very poor joob getting nothing for him. He will be the top UFA in history, most likely. Tampa has a good team, but poor management of assets is poor management of assets. |

well that's a unique situation. they are a legit Cup contender. how were they supposed to trade him? and even had they traded him, the return would have been modest as it is for most rentals. likely a first rounder in the 20s, a mediocre prospect and a bottom 6 schmuck. if Stamkos doesn't want to be there, which appears to be the case, there isn't much Yzerman could do. |
