Eller has great skill, but zero offensive instinct. He is good when driving to the net.... and that is pretty much it. He holds on to the puck far too long in the offensive zone and often takes very poor quality shots (that usually end up in the chest of the goaltender). I doubt we are ever going to see a massive improvement from him. He doesn't know what to do with the puck in offensive situations.

As far as Shaw goes, I am hesitant to call him a depth player. He might not be a bonafide top 6 guy, but he is good for 15-20 goals a year. That's not bad.

For everyone complaining the Habs have done nothing to fill the biggest holes in the roster..... open your eyes. The NHL is a free agency league. Couple that with the fact that the Habs don't really have a boatload of assets to work with, and it is pretty obvious why the Habs haven't gotten a true top 6 scorer. It is senseless for them to trade away what assets they have for what would almost certainly turn out to be a one year rental.
