Byron: 11 goals, 850minutes
Shaw: 14 goals, 1140minutes
And I don't need to point out the obvious talent disparity in teammates
Look I don't dislike Shaw, and yes he will help the team in a few ways. But if they don't address the need for offence it's not going to make a difference in the bigger picture. - ehabs9
It's not like free agency has started or anything like that. We are days away from the start and you guys are already complaining. |

It was a good draft. If Shaw gets signed on a good deal I'd be happy. Therrien is also overjoyed cause he gets to play desharnais more =P
Once desharnais is replaced then the habs will be good |

Exactly. No reason to think old Bergy won't make some big moves to address the glaring weaknesses in this team. If history has taught us anything it's that old Bergy knows how to make the big moves. Byron, Mitchell, Flynn, Barberio, Matteau (forgot about him didn't you? Ya he's here)... I mean not just any GM can consistently bring in studs like that |

I have to admit, I don't get the whole Eller Shaw thing. It isn't really bad or anything, I just don't think it helps much. |

He cant afford to strike out this time, theres a few good forwards on the market this year and if he fails to at least lure one in he should be done... |

It helps, with dollars and terms still pending its hard to compare but Montreal lacks "warriors" and Shaw brings more of what they need than Eller did |

I agree, he should at least get one on the UFA market or make a trade for a top 6 forward. Maybe he will be do more this offseason considering the year they had last season. |

As far as trading for a F, I would be asking about Jeff Carter in LA... with only 18 players under contract and just over 7 million in cap space you would think the Kings will unload an asset at some point, especially with a couple good young players up for new deals next year, including Toffoli |

2 year deal that will be cheaper since he's getting that sweet buy-out cash. Playoffs aside, he fit in with Montreal and the core is the same. It just didn't work out for him in Minnesota, he just wanted to go there and was basically miscast in a style that wasn't favourable to him. |

He played like he didn't care while mtl was in the playoffs when they made their mini run. Like you said, he was not good in Minnesota.
The guy has skills, but Semin as well. But skills in itself is not enough.
Has to be plan D or F. |

It would be right on par with the Semin signing, which should be unacceptable this time around |

Montreal is usually lucky to get plan D or F |
