I'm envisioning 3.75-4.25 for 5-6 years given the new NHL trend. I would love to see 3.25 for 6 years though.

Stamkos

Too much $$$, probably. They already have Subban, Price will ask a raise, Galchenyuk and Pacioretty as well. I guess you try to make it work, but not if he really ends up with 11-12 m a year.

Absolutely... and if surrounded with enough talent he can play a pretty important role on the 2nd line given his style of play

By the time Price, Galchenyuk and Pacioretty are up for new deals Markov, Plekanec, Emelin and Desharnais will be off the books... i think MB fully intends to go after Stamkos as hard as anyone else, he should be anyway

MB: OK, I'll give you the extra 1 million per bringing this contract up to 4.5per, but you need to gift me a suit at the start of each season.
AS: A nice suit?
MB: Not really, just something a 20 something quasi-homeless hipsters would wear.
AS: OK. deal
MB: I love when deals work out for both sides!

At the moment it is, free agency opens up soon and theres more good F available this year than probably most years and a few more could be had via trade

It goes without saying but the two 2nd round picks they had in hand were another way of adding skill.

Andrew Shaw. I really, really don't get it.

- Not_Yan

I'd have to agree Yan.

Coming from a fella that says he wants to build through the draft (trades are hard), then he trades 2 picks in a fairly deep draft.

Only to help his former team that couldn't afford Shaw..

An even $4.

Not a bargain, but not outrageous for 15-20 goals.

You at least make a phone call, of course. But I think we need a W more than anything else.

Assuming he does sign here, what's the line up and how does it work under the cap?

Do we have the cap space for Stamkos?
