It goes without saying but the two 2nd round picks they had in hand were another way of adding skill.

Andrew Shaw. I really, really don't get it.

between 2017-2018 i think Bergevin has 5 second rounders now. that's why i was surprised he didn't trade back into the second round once or even twice. i guess he's saving them to pick up a bottom 6 grinder at TDL if the team needs some scoring punch.

Maybe a good pick up but you don't trade two top-60 picks for a 3rd liner IMO.
- Not_Yan

But they also got two seconds back....didn't they?

He's a very good third liner that can step up on the second line in key situations.
Not sure he will give you the points output you would expect of a second line guy over 82 games.

only part of the Eller trade that made me sad is that it signals that Desharnais will still have a major role on this team next year. at center.

He's a proven playoff performer at 24. Now, that's not relevant, as the Habs won't be making the playoffs. But the point still stands.

$4M per season for Andrew Shaw?????? Are you kidding me???

That is a disgusting overpayment for a guy who'll contribute 25 points per year. This team is in big trouble

If Price stay healthy they will make the playoffs and Knock out the Bruins in round 1 but will lose to Eller and caps in round 2.

yeah. he's it. he's the one hope in the organization to fill a top 6 role. Hudon/McCarron seem like bottom 6 guys.

those picks will get traded. after 4 years Bergevin is getting to the point where picks aren't going to matter that much because if he doesn't deliver a Cup in the near future, he likely won't be around when those prospects mature.
