to this point Edmonton's management has reminded me of Bergevin in that sense. major holes in the lineup but unwilling to touch any piece of the core.

They have some depth upfront to make a move. Mtl doesn't have depth anywhere. You need pieces to make a trade.

Maybe they get more than that if they don't wait years before moving Tinordi but even then, I don't think you get a top 6 forward by moving him, even back then.

tends to happen when a team's GM never does anything.

i feel like we've been saying this for 4 years now but they will probably trade something from their forward group for some help on D.

Sadly, it's not part of their rebuild plan.

I get what you mean but I don't believe their situation is the same.

While we do have numerous decent defensemen in our lineup, I don't believe we can be considered stacked with top end talent on the defensive front like Edmonton is with forwards.

Trading a guy like Beaulieu for a forward, creates a hole in our defense for sure while Edmonton could spare a Yakupov/ RNH/ Eberle without suffering as much.

- Scabeh

i think Eberle could bring in something decent because he can score goals. not sure about RNH... and Yaukupov is utterly worthless. if they want a top pairing defenceman it would have to be Hall or Draisaitl.

know what the best part is? even with a healthy McDavid, they could very well be a lottery team again next year.

I would murder trade every member of the current habs roster if it got us the Oilers' roster.

$4M per season for Andrew Shaw?????? Are you kidding me???

That is a disgusting overpayment for a guy who'll contribute 25 points per year. This team is in big trouble
