Just sitting here wondering what the future could be if we drafted Provorov/Brown instead of Zacha/McLeod. - Mr.Bobby

I'm sure he is Toronto bound and honestly I'm a little envious on how the progress of their rebuild is going. |

That's my hope as well. If Buffalo signs stammer for 12 mill. What the hell are they gonna give eichel. If they do that the oilers should offer sheet ristolainen |

I hope he burns Buffalo first. The Garth blog would be mind blowing. |

Torontos D sucks. They have a bunch of undersized skilled forwards and a bunch of crappy old vets meant to "protect" the kids in robidas lupil michalek laich. They look very similar to the oilers back in 2010-2013. You can say there doing well in the rebuild but they finished last. Until they move out of the basement their rebuild is no better than ours |

Buffalo offers 15 mill and he signs in Toronto for 13 would be the ideal situation |

If the Leafs sign Stamkos they will have a stellar one two punch at centre with Stamkos and Matthews as well as having Kadri and Bozek. They also have some nice young forwards in Nylander, Marner and Kapanen.
They have a starting goalie in Anderson and two top four d-men in Rielly and Gardiner. They could also very well have a third top four guy in Zaitsev.

I would like to reiterate how stoked I am we got gifted puljujarvi
The guy is the goods. The real deal
Other than Connor Jesus, I haven't been this amped on a pick since hall.
In a world where we cheer for an organization that's known nothing but failure, at least we've got this |

Why? Theyve been rebuilding as long as us. Anyone thinks they havnt been is wrong. Theyve had plenty of very high picks.
And their D is a tire fire. |

Big IF with the stamkos signing. I personally would not go over the 8 mill mark for him. He's coming back from major issues with blood clot AND his numbers have significantly declined since his injury at the Olympics. He's not the same player any more. But I hope Toronto completely (frank)s up their cap situation by giving him 12 mill (they currently don't have cap space for that as it is now).
Yes Reilly is a good piece probably a 2/3 d man right now. I'm not convinced gardener is more than a 4. Zaietzev has done what exactly to make you think he's a top 4?? Sounds like the numerous times Edmonton has expected this rookie to be a impact top four player only to see him struggle.
Freddie Anderson has been good but he's still unproven. Let's see what happens when a goalie that put up average numbers from a good defensive team comes to a bad defensive team. (Fahst, scrivens, bernier come to mind).
Torontos still has a long ways to go and I feel if the sign stamkos to that albatross of a contract it will only set their rebuild behind schedule. |

Not saying he's better than Matthews or laine by any means, but his position/size/200' game etc is exactly the right piece for us
I'm glad it worked out the way it did and we weren't forced on A player we probably didn't need as much |

Completely agree. Out of all the prospects in the top 10 Puljujarvi was by far the best for for us |

No no. They all say cap is not even close to an issue. Lupul, JVR, Bozak wil all be traded for picks |

That's fine but when it comes time to resign marner nylamder Matthews ect. A 12 million cap hit for a declining player will be an issue. |

The best would be the Sabres who, by paying Stammer north of 12 million and Eichel 9 mil ( he's worth almost as much McDavid so...), they will find themselves in a Chicago situation....sans the 3 Stanley's of course. |

Lol...still, not gonna rip on any team until PC makes at least 1 significant trade for a D. Free agency is poop this season. |

Ya it's a good years for free agent forwards but the D is trash. The couple of decent options have already been signed in golgoski and yandle.
I'd still be ok with taking Luke schenn on the bottom pair for so,etching like 1.5X2 but that's really the only one. Demers scares me. I don't want to commit any more than 4X4 on him. |

How soon people forget. Chicago fans want to abolish the salary cap or modify it to their benefit, like they are being penalized for success. Cry me a river. |

And they will get it. A lot of these Detroit, Chicago, etc. retirement contracts are getting near that point. Massive cap recaptures are not something the NHLPA or owners are going to stand for. Dead cap space is bad for the league. Guarantee there are some get out of jail free cards handed out in the next two to three years. |

No they just cost fans half a season of hockey. Bettman5.
Look at how teams were relieved of bad contracts after lockouts.
Let's be honest the only "punishments" teams have had for signing absurd contracts is a 250k cap recapture to the Devils for Kovy and a 1.5 mil recapture for the Kings with Richards. Not exactly the kind of deterrent the league was looking for I'm sure. |
