Honestly, the past two years they've done a great job of drafting. Picked up a gem in Benson.

The one thing that annoyed me is the third round. We picked three defensemen, and all of whom are left shooting.

Berglund (the best offensive talent) is a RHD. Niemelainen played both sides and I remember being impressed by his WJC. Real steady, confident puck-mover with nice wheels and a 6'6 frame. Defaults to shooting more in the O-zone which is only a shortcoming because his shot needs work.

Big fan of the reports on Berglund. Huge shot from the point (that's the big one), good awareness, solid defensive coverage, and solid puck movement. Lacks a gear in footspeed and aggressiveness.

Oh you are correct, sorry about that.

Also Niemelainen is the 6'6 guy drafted at #63.

- I_Love_Timmies

Yup and makenzie had him ranked at 38. I can't say I know much about him but seems like a good pick.

No way I see them taking that deal and really why would they? whats the upside there?
- RatedR80

Yakupov MAYBE turning his game around. Big BIG maybe there, though. The only way they'd do it is if Hynes' personal grudge against Severson is so big that he convinces management he's garbage (not gonna happen).

I heard yakupov for Brett Connolly from stauffer. I'd say that's the best we can hope for at that point.

Don't worry coach. I been working on my game and may be able to put a couple games in on the backend on the right side.....if you're nice to old Leon all summer.

Dumba and granlund

- Ihateallofu

God damn it you would think these teams could just get together and get something done...the Wild need talent up front and the Oilers need blueliners I mean (frank) how hard can it be to make a deal here

Ya I'm on the dumba train as well right now. I'm hoping I'm wrong and we can do better but at this point I fell he might be our best bet. I would really want Jones or trouba but I fell Winneoeg and CLB will get a deal done

Might have to make the transition there Leon....wasnt Burns a forward a long time ago or am I thinking of someone else?

A reporter asked about the snub that Columbus gave him, he had this to say: "I don't mind. Edmonton is a real hockey town."

I'm still an advocate of a Nurse for Trouba deal, but a number of other disagree with me.

Chiarellis is either circling back to him (prob not his ideal choice ) with options drying up or we're super fuked and teams are even playing hardball with a reasonably clear win with the deal already offered

Dumba was a sheltered 3rd pair while they need top 6 centers.

As much as my Swedish blood appreciates any Swedes we draft, I'm a big fan of the Finnish movement happening not only in Edmonton, but across the league. With Edmonton, a contingent of Puljujarvi, Pakarinen, Niemelainen, Rasanen, and Sallinen is a good start. Coga and the Avs can have all the Russians; we'll take the Finns.

Ya I'd do it. I mean best case scenario nurse is as good as trouba in two years? The value is solid for us but I'd much rather trade a forward for a D than a defensman. I think a nuge + yak/Reinhardt would be my package of choice

Nurse isn't an asset I deal without a ton of hesitation though

Ya I'd take a deal for dumba but if people expect dumba to be our top pair RHD there going to be disappointed for a while. I think he has that potential but he's 2 years away from it.

Troubas first two seasons were hugely promising. But he was pretty mediocre this past season. Actually flat out bad in many spots

And I'm a big fan of his

Trading nurse scares me
