Oh Bullpoop. We we've already seen some 2nd pair guys moved. PC just over values his assets.

You're missing the point. We have collected more assets than everyone else. It's like that knob who has millions of dollars but doesn't spend it. What's the point of dying with nothing but money in the bank. |

I think the Oilers had one of the better drafts this year. They got super lucky at 4 and could have the best player in the draft. Benson was a great pick in round 2 because he has skill but isnt a perimeter player and brings some grit. Then in the 3rd they went all dmen to try and fill a need.
Other teams I liked this year were Flames, Coyotes, Jets and Tbay |

I would have liked to see the Oil trade pick 31 to Tampa for DeAngelo. |

Coyotes did really well imo. I like Chayka's willingness to compromise in order to get what he wants. He didn't play hardball on Datsyuk's contract, some see that as a loss for the Yotes but it's really a loss for the Wings division rivals more than anything. I feel like Chayka could have gotten a better deal given more time but he wanted Chychrun at 16 and was willing to take back less value from Detroit just to get it done immediately. Sure he might have left some value on the table, but he got the main pieces he was after and didn't give up anything vital in the process.

Yandle and Goligoski also have been moved.
Get ready to sign one of Russell/Demers.

I also think they could have done better with more time but at the end of the day they got who some think we be the best dman in the draft, unloaded a contract(ahl guy) and the datysuk part really has no meaning to their season either way. Not like they have to pay him and they aint going to the cap so who cares really. |

I thought the DeAngelo trade was even better.

Yeah, for sure. Then make a second deal for Ellis.
(frank) it, if we can ice a McDavid/JP line and a Hall/Draisaitl line supplemented by some responsible gets ( Pouliot?) in front of a solid D we would be better off than any combination of McD, Hall, Ebs, Draisaitl, RNH, Yak, or JP and the poop show we call a defence. |

Neids is a quality piece, but I say we chase a replacement for the 3c in granlund if we're dealing nuge for dumba

I was thinking a cheap FA or a separate deal for a 3C. I think Nino is a chia kinda player. Granlund would be good but I feel he probably has more value than Nino. I would even go yak nuge oesterle for dumba and granlund.
But granlund being Finnish would help out Puljujarvi I would think.
Hall-drai-eberle
Maroon-MCD-cheap FA
Pouliot-granlund-puljujarvi
Hendricks-letestu-kassian
I can live with that. |

Not too many traceable assets beyond nuge/ebs and yaks
But yeah, if you've dealt both, a free agent could happen
Like the look of that 3rd line

Stewart, grabner, versteeg, And maybe Purcell could be had for pretty cheap I would think. I wouldn't want to spend much to replace yak in the UFA market
That third line has a ton of speed and I feel would be good to shelter puljujarvi year one and it would do really well considering they'll play third pairing D all year.
Maybe it's just the frustration kicking in but at this point I'd do

Frustration? No poop! JP is a great piece but I would trade him in a heartbeat if we got a real D in the deal.
The only thing I really like about adding another young forward is that I feel better about potentially trading Wberle. |

Stewart is a tough scorer type I'd like to play in that spot
But the guy is a no show half the season
Versteeg- meh

Grabner is a really fast player with no hands. Can kill penalties and chip in 25 points. Oh and also get a breakaway a game but not score on it
All in all a decent 4th line player |
