I dont think Oilers need to go for the big splashes here, it seems silly to me.
Get rid of the dead cap weight in Fayne, Ference, Yak, etc. And try to build the team with good smart signings and not the big name fishes to long term deals

Okposo is not much of an increase if any. Hard to compare Eberle when he has been on a losing team his whole career. He did amazing last year with McDavid. Eberle has a quick shot with amazing accuracy. Still if Okposo brings his asking price down maybe. NYI leaked that he is looking for 7 mil. That is ridiculous and no one will (and many teams can't) pay that.

I agree that Lucic should be passed on. It would be great if Anahiem grabs him but I don't see that with their Cap situation. They have 8-10 forwards signed as a bunch are UFA. Then Lindholm to sign. The would probably have to part with two defenders and Lucic won't be that much of a game changer for them. There is talk on their boards that Getzlaf is the player that the Ducks want to get rid of. Not sure how that looks for them but there should be a market for him for whomever falls short on Stamkos.

I don't mind Hall being traded for a D man...Lucic will be an overpaid downgrade backfill.

I agree with above- just think they (Oiler Management) has drooled over Lucic for years... Unfortunately its a foregone conclusion IMO...
