Is it just me or are we taking a lot of older players ? Last few I looked at all 97 birthdays.

No Keller really hurt, really bad, imo. I saw a lot of projections of either him or yost being there and I really thought buffalo would take one of the d men. Idk what happened but that change up at pick 3 seemed to really turn people off the d men. I was super bummed about the ottawa trade, I thought brown was the last offensive guy who had a decent chance at being a real great player. Not by any means saying McLeod won't, anything can happen obviously, just felt like brown was the last guy most people were high on before you dipped into players with tremendous potential but had a downside. I don't know why Shero wanted to be under that line so badly, But in all honesty, I doubt there was much we could do. Clearly didn't have much to move up, seeing the cost of moving up with detroit and arizona. I think the bennett trade is fine and I don't know why you guys are freaking out. Everyone was talking about how good it is to trade a 3rd for an NHL player, and bennett is a guy that every commentator was kissing up to a few years ago, he's been hurt, but a 3rd round pick would take years to develop with no guarantee, why not swap for another risk that at least gives you insight now instead of later? Also anyone who thinks the devils can straight up offer a 3rd round pick and land yakupov is dillusional, he was never worth as "3rd round pick".

Anyone want to bet me that Todd hypes up the OHL goalie we grabbed. His team must have been terrible if the got peppered with as many shots they say he took.

He said something on his Twitter that he was like the fourth worst. Blackwood was the best though.

Bennett maybe 6-3, but not physical if you look at his minutes. Seems to be living off a huge year in 2009-10, which got him a scholarship, picked high by Pitt, and now expectations of something in NJ. Reality is probably he had a big year playing against inferior talent, could not raise his game up a level when called to.

This was the guy we got for not drafting Brown.

Bennett has talent. Good vision. Probably a better passer than shooter. Still, he's NEVER healthy. Chronic shoulder problems. He got hurt raising his arms celebrating a goal last year (true story). I'd bet his medical file is bigger than him.

Swedish kid we just took looks like a bigger tedenby. Not bad considering this kid will never be a 1st round bust lmao honestly though, his highlights (which are clearly only his good plays) were awesome to watch. Slick moves, great passes and some quality finishes. Pretty quick too, hopefully he can be a nice addition to the org.

looks like the consensus is that after this draft the team should be contracted. good to see another successful off-season in full swing.

Can we go on record and say this is probably worse then the 2014 draft or should we wait a year for the new prospects to under perform?

Careful, July 1st is quickly approaching. Things can get a whole lot badder real soon.

Maybe we'll be surprised with the chemistry between McLeod and Bastian

Holy crap you guys are so melodramatic. We picked up a bunch of forwards which is what we needed to do. Mcleod and Bastian are now our boys, lets see what they have. Bennet was a first round pick and I would rather see him on the roster over Tootoo. We are seriously lacking RW depth. I know it is disapointing there was nothing earth shattering and this was all pretty conservative but anything great is usually built with a 1000 positive micro moves and a few major ones. Hang tight and let the micro moves happen.

Keller was the only chance to get a real high potential prospect. Its not like we passed on him.

I wasn't really talking about those two. I guess it is what it is. When Matthew Phillips is in Calgary's top 6 and people are saying NJ could of picked him 5 spots ahead, it'll be like the Gaudreau situation.
