Shero is such a duster. just contradicting moves again you mean to tell me we traded down to get mcleod and trade that extra third for kid who likely can't play 20 games like how is the owner signing off on these moves.

Just a RW depth move I think. I see he is injury prone. We are really light on RW, and this is a sign Tootoo wont be back so not such a bad deal. Who else do we have ther for now, K-palm and Smith-Pelley and hopefully some decent RW through free agency, but thats it.

Traded a 3rd for an NHL player not that bad of a trade.

Exactly right and if he stays healthy it's a great move. No real risk for a possibly good reward.

Yeah but it wasn't necessary all of his moves are just not necessary we have needs and he is just ignoring them it seems. we don't need another blandisi or boucher or dsp or kalinin we need more top players We don't need to waste assets to replace garbage players like toots we could utilize free agency and not give anything up put cap. We juust can't help but get our best players from free agency though.

So wild how the reactions are. Does anybody here care to remember Henrique's numbers when we drafted him? in 06-07 he put up 44 points in 62 games, then in his draft year, 07-08, put up 44 points in 64 games and hadn't even had his memorial cup success yet. Be happy with took forwards with some speed and vision.

How are the moves unecessary? We need forwards he has drafted all forwards. We trade a pick for a forward who has familiarity with Hynes and shero and will play in the line up next year. We don't have the assets to get a top player.

You could also say that how many players with those types of numbers end up being like Henrique I am sure its a lot less then the ones who don't. I think everyone is emotional and its part of the draft but I think in all seriousness no one really cares as anything can happen with any of these guys its just sucks when the plans and hopes you had aren't what the team you cheer for see's. I know I was expecting things to have gone a lot differently for us so far. I was thinking Keller was ours that would might trade up back into the first and add another scorer and perhaps swing a deal for a nice young player that isn't broken nor be passed on its old teams depth chart but I guess that was really only the best case scenario.

We do You are afraid all these so so assets will turn into something so dont want to give anything of value to get something of value. Also Im not blind to the situation the point isn't that we need forwards and aren't taking them its that we don't just need any kind of forwards. lets not forget the ones we do have aren't very good even if you pump rico and palms tires all day they still aren't ANYWHERE enough. My problem is we continue to nab guys who are described as two way players when drafting for the Devils should be the easiest team in the league to draft for. Its pretty simple Take the most skilled forward available at each pick or move up to get guys if you have to. Taking all these players who aren't even a ppg in jr's doesn't really help us everyone says we don't have depth players but that is the biggest lie going. If we had some REAL player the guys we consider top players would all be bumped down and player Depth roles as 98% percent of them should be. We are missing an entire top line not just one damn forward lol.

Here's the thing. We are not going to just land a top line. Doesn't work like that. We don't have the assets to trade to piece that together. Yet. Unfortunately this all takes time. Things to remember, Elias has a year left and will mentor Zacha. In all likelihood, with Vegas trying to reach the cap floor, they could take Zajac off our books next off season. We will likely have another top 10 pick next season. We have a ton of youth coming up. I wouldn't sweat all this the way some of you are. I'd rather stick with what we have than go through another off season of getting guys like Havlat. I'd rather sit and build and be patient than use stop gaps.

WE could literally trade almost anyone off our roster Not named Cory Schneider and he still likely wills us to the same place in the standings so to me we absolutely can afford to move some of our best assets for someone who can score and is under 27. I mean we selected a guy most peg to be 3-4 years away with our first so why shouldn't it of been out there thats a pretty nice asset that we apparently can't afford to make available ? Maybe there is Richard all out there but I doubt it that's just to easy to feed to a fanbase.

Zacha hasn;t torn anything up yet this is what still gets me. He skates fast and looks like an nhl body out there so he didn't look out of place. I don't remember him taking anything over or controlling anything yet because he wasn't absolute garbage in his short stint everyone is conviced he is a lock for the team ( if thats the case I see us being worse then this past season ) and he already has a concussion that I never heard the severity of but Im sure they lied like they always do. All I'm saying is there where better moves to be made as I saw it. That doesn't mean what we ended up with isn't good but it shouldn't be wrong to feel like we didn't get the best again.

Thank you! If Yaks is available for the rumored third or a similar package why not him ? Waaaaaay more upside and doesn't have the injury history.

You think we are the only team willing to pay that? Any team would take that for a former number 1. It's to create a bidding war

Doesn't mean you need to settle for a busted up kid on his way out of the nhl. Doing more favours for his pittsburgh people.

Yeah I was actually expecting us to pick up yak. Def not happening now. I mean wtf is the obsession with all the penguins rejects? I would've traded a conditional 7th rounder for bennet like we did for o'neill. Damn sure wouldn't have given a 3rd for his scrub ass
