Yeah I would have risked it at 57 and taken Benson, Laberge or DeBrincat at 31. Maximize our assets and worse case we lose the big Russian it isn't that bad.

Don't love the pick, but don't hate it. Skilled Russian player with size something we lack. We have a good amount of smaller skilled forwards #57 will be interesting

Oh for sure, I won't hold that against him. He clearly has all the tools to be something special, but between the reported attitude 'issues', his poor combine performance and a general souring on him from people who see him a lot more than me I'm skeptical.

But if Babcock can straighten out any issues he could be a gem for us.
