Hey - I'm just reading the words he chose to use.

He's locked into the Blue & White for 7 years. Then he can choose to be a part or apart.

Went with big over-agers for the most part; 19/20 year olds.

Assume to play for the Marlies right away, let some of the older RFAs walk or ship them out for late rounders.

I think it was a good day.

Maybe a C+/B-?
Obviously we won't know for sure for a few years, and Hunter deserves some leeway, but it seemed like they reached a bit for a lot of the guys they picked and left more "consensus" top talent on the table. We will have to see how this Overager strategy plays out. But it's all good because...Matthews

Well if one of these overagers turns out like Pearson or palat

C+ seems appropriate. I say this simply because it's a bit of a eccentric strategy.

i'd give it an A for matthews alone

as for the other prospects there is a ton of upside for each of them... but they need work... even if only 2 or 3 of them turn out to be good players... it will be a very big win for the draft

That would be pure icing. If any of these guys makes an impact akin to palat it would be amazing.

Several teams reaching out to pending UFA Matt Martin. Rangers, Maple Leafs among teams with a level of interest.

good buddy with Stamkos lol They played together in Sarnia

We also need toughness if we have all these kids in the line up

Rychel seems to fit that toughness role in today's nhl.

But, i'm guessing he starts with the marlies.

Completely agree. Martin makes more sense to play on the 4th line

I haven't had time to fully digest the draft yet.
A lot of Wtf picks at first glance.. And a very different strategy from last year draft also it looks like.

Komarov and Martin lead the nhl in hits every year... would be sweet seeing them have a few shifts together

Seems like that's an area they are trying to take advantage of.

So Phil Kessel has turned into Frederik Andersen, Kasperi Kapanen, Kerby Rychel and James Greenway...

I'm good with that!

The trade was officially declared a Leafs loss the minute it happened. Too late to change now.
