It's easier to go off the board and take risks when you know the first player you picked is half-decent

Seems like more high risk/high reward picks for sure

Taking several overagers seems like a huge risk. Swinging for the fence. As someone said earlier are they targeting these older guys to get them to ahl, sooner?

He's going to be a 30 goal scorer in the NHL....Chicago got a steal, of course...it's always the same teams making smart moves. He should have been drafted in the 1st round, him just sitting there at #31 was a gift...and instead we pick some random dude that no one has ever heard of.

I thought Debrincat had a similar perception as Ho-Sang. Kind of a douche. I don't know if that's true, but if it is then that's why the Leafs didn't take him. They have said being a good person is paramount.

he looks like a pretty decent pick, surprised he went so low and rated so low. maybe his skating isn't good?

Oh my God, quit your female doging. Have you ever seen or heard of any of these guys, especially Korshkov play? Quit the moaning and groaning, some of you guys are such whiners. These kids haven't played a single (frank)ing North American or AHL/NHL game yet

Middleton sounds like nothing but size, but will give time to see how it works out.

Not so, late bloomer, Hunter knows juniors - older brother drafted 8th overall, by Owen Sound. Will clear the front of the net, priority will be the first pass out of the zone. Could be a steal, wait and see.

I kind of agree with this actually. It would have been a smart pick value wise, in terms of asset management, not need. When you're gifted a pick like that you take it, whether it's a team need or not. Because it either gives you a really tradeable asset, or makes another player a tradeable asset in time.

It's like pulujarvi. The oilers have zero need, but like hell you pass on a guy like that when he drops into your lap.

Maybe. But I have seen him play a lot this year. And he was just awful. We'll see if he keeps developing but i don't have high hopes.

And now another one.

Bobylov had huge swing from last year to this year. Maybe rough adjustment from Russia?

I don't mind this pick, scores and size and apparently some grit.

And had what? 12 points in 50 KHL games? What the hell kind of statistic is that? Especially for a 20 year old. You don't waste practically a 1st rounder on a 5th rounder.
