According to source, $4.5m/yr figure for #Blackhawks to keep Shaw is inaccurate. Hearing he wanted term and around $3.2m AAV cap hit.

He is not big, but he can overcome this problem with his soft hands and fast skating. Kayumov can both score and help other players to score and is a constant threat in the offensive zone. He is very smart and is doing very well with the U18 national team in the MHL, and he was one of the best players for Team Russia this summer at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. His lack of size may cause Kayumov to be considered a long shot to make it to the NHL, but he has all the tools to succeed.

Kid is a fluid skater that can score . Would you rather Stan drafts a monster that cant skate ? Any 6'3 lightning fast skaters are gone in the 1st 10 picks .

5' 7" and 167? That's pretty stocky. Being that short can give you some nice leverage for winning board battles. Seems like he was the best available by far and has a good scoring touch.

Gotta really wonder about the size they are drafting. You can understand a guy like Debrincat, who scored a ton. But hell, these guys are making Anthony Louis look big.

Yeah, I think the first guy was a value pick. Was thinking he's like Grimaldi, but after reading more about him, he's much more of a sniper than Grimaldi is/was.

Agree, but Stan had to move someone early though, to free up cap space, otherwise he would have been stuck like last year and forced into a deal he gets fleeced in.

I appreciate your work on that site.

How can any league that hopes be seen as having any integrity:

Allow a team that executes a contract that was completely legal (and approved by the league when signed) to be subsequently potentially punished for it?

Allow (a) a team to eliminate a cap hit by trading the contract of a player who has no intention of playing, and (b) allow a team to get that contract to satisfy its cap floor without spending one dime for it or actually have the player skate for them?
