Well they are going to have to take back a goalie, Neimi probably so that only saves them 1.5M not enough to make up the gap required for Stamkos and Hedman.

Then what the hell is Dallas going to do with 12M in goalies? then add another 1+M the next year.

Not enough cap savings from the Tampa POV in my opinion. If I want cap space to sign Stamkos, no way am I taking Niemi back.

Well, guessing we'll see Fleury as 1A and Murray as 1B to start the season. Probably Fleury getting the more important starts.

Don't foresee Fleury being traded at the draft at this point. Guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow for our picks.

I agree, if player is not playing, should not be able to trade the player. But if that is the system, use it.

I also do not like how this enable Arizona to not pay cap floor. NHLPA has to hate this rule.

I made mention that elliott was a ufa after this coming year and then you could figure it out then, if he is an answer or if Gillies is ready. Then again, Gillies missed most of the season, so you have to wonder if the timeline for him is pushed back another year or so.

Sorry, blown away we didn't get Fleury. Tired of not having a goalie for more than 1 year at a time. Does give us 1 year to see what we have in Gilles & then if he progresses MAF may be on the table next year & give us 2 years or if not, maybe go hard after Bishop as a UFA. You would think Fleury would have been OK to waive to a team that he would have been the undisputed #1 for at least 2 years. You think he would say no? I can't believe JR didn't realize his asking price pushed away one of the few buyers out there. Who knows.

Calgary will be looking for another goalie next year, what a dumb move. They didn't have to settle for a macdonalds hamburger, there is still steak left to be had it just costs more but it tastes better and you enjoy it so much you remember it. Flames blew it big time. Elliot is 31 and has never been a starter. With the BLues he would start for awhile and then lose the net after so many games, get it back and lose it again.

Why? They get 7.5 cap space off the books and now can use that for Stamkos. Brilliant deal IMO. Don't understand it from Phoenix's perspective. They did Detroit a huge favor, but have to surrender a second rounder next year too boot.

Not so sure about that. I think the organization and players have a lot of respect for Flower and will cater to him. Give him the preferential treatment to try to keep him happy. We're not losing Murray. They'll figure out some way around that. Might hurt a little, but don't mind having 2 rock solid goalies to start the season. Would have rather trading Flower for picks/prospects, but if the prices aren't right, no sense in dealing him for peanuts.

You need to start competing in the Pacific because Edmonton is probably going to get the pieces they need to start taking over that division. Your division is weaker next year, I think the California teams are falling back (too slow) but if you dont start winning losing become infectious.

You have to keep up with your Alberta rivals or else you're no better than a bunch of dirty filthy Philadelphia Flyers.

If the rumored Shattenkirk for RNH happens then the Oilers are going to be a lot better a lot sooner. I think they get Shat and sign Lovejoy to fortify their right side of their defense. The left is already pretty good.

I hope Philly trades out of the 1st round and they don't get Jones.

Would never do that to Duper to begin with. But he actually helps us with the cap. He gives us up to $3.5M to spend OVER the cap. Dupuis is actually a big help cap-wise.
