Also if Fleury is traded there is a very real possibility the Vegas takes Jarry as their third goalie. I can envision us losing two goalies in the next year.
- Thunderbolt

Jarry does not need to be protected, he was only a 1st year pro.

We don't have money to do that. Trade Fleury and you have.

Dude, you have been banging the deal Murray train for a while. LOL that Calgary is giving up Elliott and Tkachuck. Where you come up with JR must have a major deal for Murray with the selection of a Swedish goalie is beyond me.
- Oneonta Penguin

I hate when people put me in a "camp". I'd rather trade fleury, I'm just open-minded enough to take the right deal if it's presented. If you can't monetize fleury in a trade but can get an overpayment or fair value on Murray then yes I'm in "trade Murray" camp. This pick just tilts in the direction of trading murray because you have another high end goalie prospect.

I don't think pick was anything more than thinking value was much higher in the goalie

That lying no good old man. Saying he was going to pick a D, then trading someone he was going to qualify.

In Ruth I trust.

Never would have QO him. Never imagined we could flip him for a real asset

Took a Dman from Kitchener with the pick from NJ.

Have no idea if he is worth a crap or not.

Edit ... from the hockey news ... "shutdown D-man with edge made huge strides as a rookie"

Nope, he'd still only be a 2nd year pro and exempt.

We have the money technically. You can go over the cap by 10% during the summer. You could trade Fehr at some point to get cap compliant.

I'd say no. Expansion Draft is before the NHL Draft and NHL Year starts the new season. So for me, that means Expansion Draft is during the 16-17 season, so he still be in year 2. Just my opinion.

I like Gustavsson pick... I'd have liked Dineen.

I don't know why people want to trade Fehr, he is signed at a good price and is a good player. To think he is just a dump baffles me. I would rather dump Kuntiz and that cap hit, before Fehr.

Great Deal by JR!

The Finnish kid taken 2nd has good size for his age, 6'1" 198 lbs.....some kids that size are in the 170 range. Could help him transition easier if it ever happens.

He isn't a problem but i dont see him any better than the plethora of bottom 6 players the Pens now have making 2/3 less.
