I get that he is loved in van but there is probably a dozen or more other centers let alone players you could trade horvat for and the fan base would be just fine - Redmile247
I disagree. You don't move a young center who is moving up cyclically very well like Horvat. Will have Bergeron style numbers in time. This is the kind of move that if backfires gets people fired. Horvat and the Sedins are the only three roster players that should be untouchable right now...and Gudbranson.

speaking of Guds. Radko's contract should be a pretty good baseline for what he gets. which was not 4 years for 16.

You wouldn't move him for Mackinnon, Tavares, Toews, Giroux, Seguin etc?
No one is saying he isn't a good young centre, but its a bit of a stretch to say that Crosby is the only centre he could be swapped for that wouldn't enrage the fan-base.

I agree with not moving Horvat but no way in hell would i trade Hutton or Virtanen unless the offer was spectacular

Agreed, Horvat should be one of the untouchables (along with Virtanen). It's obvious he's going to be a very quality player (he's already shown flashes of brilliance but just needs more experience and consistency, which will both come in due course). And as far as the draft goes, I really hope Vancouver does not trade away the pick - even if it's to move down to acquire more assets. It's all about quality and not quantity and the Canucks need to continue to develop young talent going forward, as that's the most optimal course of action to achieve success in this league.

Everyone should be available for the right price or you are not doing your job.
