Whud I tell ya boys, he liked Juolevi all along if Dubois was gone. The franchise needs a higher end dman, may not be sexy now, but that pick will pay off in due time. - LeftCoaster
Completely happy with this pick. Finns play damn hard. |

Really makes me wonder why Kekalainen would have passed on the 2 Finns.
In any case we have all known this D-Core needed an overhaul 4 years ago and they are finally starting to right the ship. - rugdnit
Kekalainen probably wanted to trade the pick, remember, they never expected to win the 3OA, all things being equal they would have picked Dubois 5OA if the draft lottery had stayed the way the standings were with Toronto, Edmonton and us picking 1/2/3. I'll bet he wanted a 1C prospect + a top 10 pick to move down. Since no one was going to pony that up, he picked the player he felt was going to help his team going forwards. Dubois has the 200 foot game and can play both wing and center and that probably was the clincher for him. Columbus needed a center, beyond Matthews it was Dubois (who's more of a winger but can play center and who they picked) then Brown, Keller and Jost, none of whom you'd reach at 3 for. |

I'm going to assume STDs are pretty common amongst young NHLers. |

Like I said, you build from the net out. The other way just doesn't work, right Edmonton . Now Toronto is doing the same as Edmonton. They'll need more than Rielly if they are going to make a run at the cup one day.
JB has caught a lot of flak the last year or so but he's doing it the right way. This team won't rise as quickly but I see them as being a helluva team in 5 years....
That defence group is starting to look badass.... - chompsey
I have been harping on our D-Core for much longer than you may remember. Vantel may recall. Look at what players like Doughty and Keith do.
Top heavy up front just doesn't work. A stud D-Man that eats minutes, dictates the flow and pace of the game is what you need.
Somebody complained he didn't put up alot of points, but players like him have their fingerprints all over the game. |

I don't disagree... You just have to think that back in Finland some people are scratching their heads. Coaches and GMs tend to really stick with their guys. |

Went to the nucks draft party. Was pretty good stuff. Like the 1st pick, what can you say you got screwed by CLB and EDM and you helped out CGY. Either way good foundation building piece. Won't regret it in 3-4 years. |

I wasn't too happy when people were comparing him to Maata. (frank) id hope he'd be better than that. - Scooby_Doo
I've heard Benning compare him to Lidstrom...that would work |

Well said Lefty. I was a bit caught off guard with the pick initially because of our offensI've future but thinking back to when Benning talked about how he built his team's it all made complete sense. We have a very strong defensive future going forward and maybe he finds us a gem in the later rounds.
Makes FA a big deal for competitiveness but I'm cool with that considering our cap situation.

I felt as though Marwood was creeping on me at the bar tonight. Maybe not but he fit the persona of a guy who smokes jazz cigarettes and eats pies.
I sang myself some karaoke because the most beautiful girl I've ever seen told me too. I'd leave my wife for her in a heartbeat beautiful. Like a hard 11 or 12. |

Decided to check in from the UK and was shocked to see who JB picked at 5, but I like it a lot more than I expected I would. Juolevi, Hutton, Tryamkin, Gudbranson, Tanev in a few years have the looks of a formidable defense should they all reach their potential |

runner up was Travis Dermott, third was Rollie McKeown.
