That is probably the most that might happen in the Flames favor. I would be more then happy with just that. Then it will be up to Vancouver to see who the Flames get. I'm not sure which I prefer. I think Tkachuk, but would not be upset with Dubois at all.

No worries. I fully expect nothing to happen. Picks 1 thru 6 will happen with no movement. The top 5 will go as expected. Flames will pick Nylander, Juolevi, or Sergachyov. In the end it al becomes pretty boring and almost predetermined with the top picks.

Every team is supposedly willing or looking to move, but none of them actually want to pay to do so. So nothing extra ever happens. There has been about 6 draft day trades in the last 10 years that involved top 10 picks, and only 1 of those was top 5 (basically a 5th for 8th swap). Almost all the upper teams want to see what they can get, but will never get offered what they think that they should.

It's fun to make fantasy trades but nothing ever actually happens.

Seems like they think that they have all the leverage in any trade attempt because their forwards were such high draft picks. They are the team with the extreme need. What they have isn't working. Step up, take the hit, and pay what they need to, to get what it is obvious that they need. One would think that the new management team wouldn't continue this trend that Lowe and MacTavish always had.

But if their unwilling to do it, and choose to go with Juolevi, then I am all for it.

Arizona and Buffalo supposedly want defensemen. swap with Buffalo so that they can get first choice ahead of the Coyotes. Then they can still pick Brown at that spot.

I like the idea of getting Brown, but agree not at 6. I read an article saying his dad didn't want him working out so it wouldn't stunt his growth (it worked!), so to be ranked fairly high is pretty darn good. I wonder where he'd be ranked if he had fitnessed it up as much as Dubois or Nylander.

I guess I wouldnt mind, Wideman will be off the books before it kicks in. I still think Fleury is the best option but not at the cost of the 6th overall. He would be a good stop gap if BT is sold on Gillies.

Heard that too, but size doesn't matter if you don't use it. Everything you hear about him is that he's big, but he doesn't play big.
