But that's the price to trade in your division. But really, even if it's Nurse & the #4 & the Oil walk out with your #1 D, if options are limited, Bruins get Shattenkirk, Buffalo get Fowler, really, what's left? You guys think Subban is attainable. Canadiems aren't trading him unless it's ridiculous. Nurse just isn't a top pairing D yet but I agree he will be a solid #2-3 guy in a few years. Really Nurse & #4 for Dougie really isn't a stretch on price for top pairing RHD.

I also think nurses potential is actually higher than hsmiltons based on Dougies last couple seasons and the intangibles nurse possesses. Just my opinion though. And I'm sure you disagree

Where would he get term and money? people aren't going to sign a back up for the next 4 seasons. He will be lucky to get a contract like Eddie lack did in Carolina at 2.75M for 2 seasons. He is more or less the same guy, although with better numbers this season

He would immediately make them competitive. I'd rather see what he can do under Gully's system, and with a #1 goalie, and getting proper minutes.

It makes sense for both teams. Calgary gets their #1, and the Pens move up in the draft and get a LW prospect who's playing style fits into what they are doing right now.

No worries. I fully expect nothing to happen. Picks 1 thru 6 will happen with no movement. The top 5 will go as expected. Flames will pick Nylander, Juolevi, or Sergachyov. In the end it al becomes pretty boring and almost predetermined with the top picks.

Every team is supposedly willing or looking to move, but none of them actually want to pay to do so. So nothing extra ever happens. There has been about 6 draft day trades in the last 10 years that involved top 10 picks, and only 1 of those was top 5 (basically a 5th for 8th swap). Almost all the upper teams want to see what they can get, but will never get offered what they think that they should.

It's fun to make fantasy trades but nothing ever actually happens.

That is probably the most that might happen in the Flames favor. I would be more then happy with just that. Then it will be up to Vancouver to see who the Flames get. I'm not sure which I prefer. I think Tkachuk, but would not be upset with Dubois at all.
