' so it should be pretty great.'

Go back to school. By definition... the word great can not be modified with such an adjective. It is either great, or not great. It can not be pretty great, or sort of great. Something can not be 'pretty awesome'. Of course, someone could be both pretty and awesome, but that's a whole different thing.

Ban this guy Tanner. He embarrassed himself in yesterday's blog, and here he is again.

is that the same as a brexit?
- YuenglingJagr

No, more like what tends to happen in the Euro Cup and World Cup soccer champs, in the early rounds.

I usually only reserve those requests for racism or something that can get the site in trouble with advertisers or when someone is just relentless and its getting out of control.

The guys who tell us how useless we are and how dumb our opinions are are the first ones to spend their time trying to show us up for our mistakes. I make mistakes everyday, so the jokes on them.

Shiny new toys for both my teams today! Can't wait! Hope I don't shoot my eye out.

Preference is: 1. Sergachev, 1a. Juolevi, 2. Chychrun. Sergachev because I will always take a well-rounded Dman over a more specialized one unless there is a clear difference in talent/ceiling. There doesn't appear to be that difference here. Chychrun scares me b/c of his (reported) lack of development this year.
Either way, the talent pool gets waaaayyy deeper today with 2 1st round picks.
Thanks again Rags!!!

For a signed Shatty I think it would have to be 7 and a prospect

but I have no idea

I can see this being about right. If the rumours of Boston offering #14+ then this is what Arizona would have to do. I would probably demand some sort of security by allowing Arizona to talk to Shattenkirk about an extension to be signed July 1st or sending back a conditional 2018 1st if Arizona doesn't resign. More than likely the former though as St. Louis wouldn't want to lose an asset for Arizona's incompetence.

Wasn't Chychrun injured coming into this year? If so, that could definitely have slowed his development without showing signs that he won't develop at a more rapid pace going forward.

Yes, off-season shoulder surgery. If he's the only one there at #7, I'm happy with the pick. If either of the other two are available my preference is for one of them.

Isn't Murphy like 22? I wouldn't be so quick to cut ties with young players. He can (and probably will) continue to improve.

James, What do you think about Keller? Also, Murphy just finished his first full NHL season. He will get better. He did play well, even though his numbers were not great.

He absolutely did not. Great move. A 50 something overall to move up and get a semi top ten player. Datsyuk costs no real money, only cap space they weren't using anyways and Detroit plays in east so its of no concern if they have cap room or not.

I agree. It's a decent deal. It looks bad on paper but in reality is what both teams needed. I couldn't figure out why everyone was saying the wings would have to give up a 2nd rounder to move the contract.

Shouldn't have given up the 2nd.

Not a big deal long-term.

Toronto has a team approach to management.

Someone with experience to bounce ideas off of serms like a good thing to me

Basically, the Yotes traded Yandle for Duclair and Chychrun. The Rangers are left with nothing and I love it.

Chayka was playing with house money at 20. They gave up nothing and got a better prospect.

Yep it should have been Dats and the pick for a 3rd rounder or 2nd rounder...no idea why they would swap 1st's and take Dats and give them a player and another pick....lets Detroit out of a pickle for pretty much free.
