Maybe Stan trades CC for more potato chips? |

Gotta think their best other options are AA (unfortunately) and CC. - 93Joe
Like last season? Better start lighting candles with Mr. 43% FO back there. |

Maybe . . . and I hate to be Buzz Killington . . . but . . .
Trading Shaw doesn't really help the Hawks' cap situation. Much. It really just keeps it from getting worse. - John Jaeckel

I agree here. They can trade for a D man now . Probably pretty easily - mrpaulish
Especially with the ability to move a couple of spare top-six forwards. |

You dont pass on Pujujarvi. The guy is 6'4" 210lbs at age 18 and has sick mitts and can wheel. Their forward group if just beyond stacked now. Andddd Benning reaches on a Dman....shocking... |

Panarin can take the faceoffs so far every faceoff he took led to a goal. |

Honestly, I can't blame the Oil for making that pick. They probably were not expecting for Puljujärvi to be there at #4. - EKB13
I'm amazed he got past CBJ. Had to make the pick. Not to mention, how many of the D-men in the draft are ready to play right now? I think Van making the pick they did says that there isn't a headliner among the D prospects. |

Jarmo has some cojones, I'll say that. If Dubois pans out, he'll be a genius. |

Could be, they still really need to pare some cap commitment. Problem is with Kruger, you have to replace him. Shaw you can sort of replace with a veteran grinder or Hartman. Sort iof.
What Kruger does? Harder role to fill, and would probably cost some money. Otherwise, watch the PK suck balls next year like it did when he was injured.
Someone tell me who replaces him and what it will cost? And what have you saved?
So the rationale for dealing Kruger, to me, is really no better than the rationale for dealing Crawford, just the amount of money you free up. - John Jaeckel
Small sample size of course, but the PK was pretty bad in the playoffs. Kruger is a good player, no doubt. But is his value worth $3M+? Obviously some think so and some do not. |

They think Dubois can play center which they need after the Johanssen/Jones deal.
The Finn looks like a helluva winger tho. |

6 games, just coming off surgery, probably best PK center in the league the past couple of seasons, so yeah, throw that sample out. |
