Don't post often, but, I have a source (family friends with member of FO) who has fed me 3-4 rumors the past few years, all of which ended up being dead on. Just spoke with them and they said, Hawks are currently and actively shopping Krugs.

Even after the shaw deal?

FWIW, one league source said re-signing Andrew Ladd might be in play for the Hawks with Shaw gone.

Maybe . . . and I hate to be Buzz Killington . . . but . . .

Trading Shaw doesn't really help the Hawks' cap situation. Much. It really just keeps it from getting worse.

Wonder if the Oil will ever take an interest in their blueline?

I think Kekalianen is a terrible GM. How do you pass on Pujujarvi?? The guy is a monster added to McDavid's wing...

With that pick, the Oil can afford to trade Eberle and RNH to get a quality D-man.

Well Endzo, that was not quiet. Stan did fantastic. Tons of value for Shaw.

Friedman says #Habs will sign Shaw shortly, and could be a 5-6 year deal.

I had the same question and, YES, after the deal Hawks FO is looking to move Kruger.

Could be, they still really need to pare some cap commitment. Problem is with Kruger, you have to replace him. Shaw you can sort of replace with a veteran grinder or Hartman. Sort iof.

What Kruger does? Harder role to fill, and would probably cost some money. Otherwise, watch the PK suck balls next year like it did when he was injured.

Someone tell me who replaces him and what it will cost? And what have you saved?

So the rationale for dealing Kruger, to me, is really no better than the rationale for dealing Crawford, just the amount of money you free up.

Ya...you're probably right. But the thought of re-signing Ladd makes us feel better on the short term.

Not to be a putz but . . . Who does your friend say is going to take key d-zone draws other than Toews and kill penalties?

Gotta think their best other options are AA (unfortunately) and CC.

Honestly, I can't blame the Oil for making that pick. They probably were not expecting for Puljujärvi to be there at #4.
