Most people outside of the chicago area would say Bishop. Outside of strictly cups, Bishop has been the superior goalie over the past 3-4 years.
- Bhawks35

Not in the tournament - which Bishop can't seem to get thru in good health.

Stats are almost identical and Crawford plays very big in the playoffs...Not sure what most "people" would say but most that watch closely wouldn't take Bishop over Crawford.
- Al

Disagree. Bishops health is certainly in question so if you want to take Crow over him for that, I would agree. All things being equal though, when Bishop was healthy, he has been the better goalie.

Zawaski just tweeted:
Dreger reporting that Stan Bowman and Doug Wilson at Central Registry - looks like the Hawks and Sharks have a trade. #TSN #NHLDraft

Never mind Zawaski's next tweet:
Damn it. It finally happened. Old retweet got me. I'm sorry.

Even Jack Skille turned into an NHL player after 5 years... seems like the spot McNeill is in.
- RedFeather

But you don't draft 4th liners in the first round with the hope they make it to be a fringe player in the NHL after 4-6 years.

Neither of the aforementioned were coming out of NCAA. NCAA is a lot less physical than junior or Euro pro leagues.

If's and but's were candy and nuts or something like that... Bishop has "had a Groin" 2 years running when it counts most. Crawford has played through a few hard bell ringers...

Ehhhhh . . . I don't . . . uhhhh . . . think so.

Pretty comparable regular season numbers and Crawford's come up bigger when it counted.

- John Jaeckel

Again, I dont disagree..Crow has been better in playoffs...but ONLY bc bishop has been hurt. I would take Crow over bishop only bc of that. But, if bishops health was guaranteed, than you cant deny his play.

Better numbers on a worse team. Two vezina noms in 3 years. The guy has been pretty unbelievable since going to TB

Big wins matter most and Crawford is way ahead.
If he was better than Crawford he would be a fixture in TB.

Slap across Stan's face if this indeed turns out to be true.

Bishop and Crawford are comparable goalies (outside of Crawford's two SC's, including OVER Bishop - who can't seem to stay healthy when it matters).

Bishop also wants a much bigger contract.

Yet Stan will get pantsed again because he waits too long on his assets.

Unless CC's list of acceptable teams to be traded to is made public, how do we know if Stan ever had a chance to be in on this deal in the first place?

I think the perception is Crow is a product of a good team. Obviously not true, he's part of a good team and his play in 2013 on up to this year has been brilliant. But perception is reality in this case.

Not true. We are getting rid of guys left and right because of cap constraints..but bishop being gone..is bc hes not that good?

We are talking about possibly getting rid of Crow and we have scott darling as backup...TB has Vaislevskiy...Thats why bishop isnt a fixture. Cap constraints.
Not a new concept to us here in chicago lol

Which then begs the question WHY offer Crow the NMC when he did at the same time he got such a monster raise. Did Bowman not see these high salaries may demand some flexibility? I am totally fine giving Crow a NMC at that time, but for a bit less salary. I don't think there is a team that has given out more of these no trade deals than the Blackhawks.

At least it's the other Kane getting in trouble in Buffalo this time:

Evander Kane reportedly got into an altercation after getting kicked out of the bar Bottom's Up last night in Buffalo.

It doesn't appear that Crawford is going to be on the move? JJ mentioned some rumblings but nothing mainstream has even leaked a bit.

I am curious how the Hawks navigate this....

Lots of folks on Twitter have GMs from CAL and Cbus talking - multiple conversations on the floor.

One example - McKenzie verified Twitter acct:
CGY GM Brad Treliving and CBJ GM Jarmo Kekalainen deep in yet another conversation just off the draft floor.

True that... the price for drafting 30th for several years.
Draft starts in two hours, but ours starts tomorrow.

There is a lot of out of town stupid....Crawford doesn't get on the ESPN highlight reel much and that is what most base their opinion off of.

True but Skille was a top 10 pick and McNeill I think was 18th.

Agreed but using that logic than so would Bishop would it not?

Nothing below says Bishop is "superior". For the record.

12-13 - CC .926 and 1.94/Bishop .920 and 2.67

13-14 - CC .917 and 2.26/Bishop .924 and 2.23

14-15 - CC .924 and 2.27/Bishop .916 and 2.32

15-16 - CC .924 and 2.37/Bishop .926 and 2.06
