Well, they supposedly had a deal done with TB for Bishop 2-3 days ago that I think mckenzie was all over. Aaaaaand?

I will also reiterate what I said the other day too. He (typically) doesn't have his finger "on the pulse" of the Blackhawks.

I don't know that the Hawks will do a deal w Calgary for CC. But ask yourself, all else being equal (and mostly the money is), if you could choose one?

Crawford
Elliott
Bishop
Fleury

I think at least 50% of the time, people will answer Crawford. Hockey people maybe more so.

To add to that:

Add name of Jimmy Howard to Flames' goalie chase.Hearing Bishop wants long term extension if traded to Calgary.Hearing 7x7 asking price.

Bishop at 7 years for $7M per, or Crawford for 4 years at $6M per.

I know who I'm choosing.

Most people outside of the chicago area would say Bishop. Outside of strictly cups, Bishop has been the superior goalie over the past 3-4 years.

JJ is this a firesale with reasonable asking prices from the Hawks? Or is Stan trying to "win" every deal? I don't see the Hawks getting equal value back on trades. It is definitely a buyers market thanks to the cap.

In the Shaw versus Kruger debate, I don't think there are any shoe-in candidates to replace either guy. But there are more possibilities to replace Shaw - Hartman, McNeill (if he says), and Baun amongst a few others. I'm not suggesting all 3 could replace Shaw, just that 3 guys (maybe more) would have the opportunity. I don't see any viable replacements for Kruger.
- DarthKane

Real tough to project what McNeill can do in the bigs. Despite 4 full years of Major Junior, 3 full years in the AHL at 210lbs who can play center or wing the guy watched 74 forwards get a shot in the NHL while he has yet to get even ONE single game.

I believe he played this last playoffs through a back injury. Not confirmed but it looked that way.
- John Jaeckel

In the Cup Final too....But he doesn't miss games or many practices, so not sure how bad it can be...

Ehhhhh . . . I don't . . . uhhhh . . . think so.

Pretty comparable regular season numbers and Crawford's come up bigger when it counted.

I won't sell him short but McNeill hasn't done enough in Rockford to say he is an impactful player at either position....And that's why you haven't see him in Chicago.

Stan should offer CC and Shaw for the 6th. i would take it. Bishop isn't worth that much

Even Jack Skille turned into an NHL player after 5 years... seems like the spot McNeill is in.

Stats are almost identical and Crawford plays very big in the playoffs...Not sure what most "people" would say but most that watch closely wouldn't take Bishop over Crawford.

Isn't the start the season at the Rock and call up midseason thing what they did with bit Saad and TT? Would make sense with Schmaltz too.
- Marlowe

Saad (in 2011-12) started the season with Chicago, then was sent back to Saginaw - he was too young to go to Rockford.

Next year he was in Rockford for half of the season because of the lockout.

Slap across Stan's face if this indeed turns out to be true.

Bishop and Crawford are comparable goalies (outside of Crawford's two SC's, including OVER Bishop - who can't seem to stay healthy when it matters).

Bishop also wants a much bigger contract.

Yet Stan will get pantsed again because he waits too long on his assets.

Bobrovsky believed to be avail #CBJ. Huge ticket $7.4M x 3. Contract can't wow CGY, but acquistn cost will be lower.

Exactly. please do. Better GAA and SV% over the past 3 seasons. 2 vezina nominations in 3 years. This is on a team that was much worse defensively than the hawks..at least 2/3 years.

Most of the Calgary chatter centering on Bishop. Sorry at $6 million per, Corey Crawford is a much better goalie.
- John Jaeckel

Perhaps Crawford wouldn't agree to go to Calgary - if he's been asked.
