The Hawks aren't dumb, they know 95% of the fanbase knows Shaw at $4.5 million is untenable.
So a "team source" tells Mark Lazerus that's what Shaw wants.
Hmmmm . . .
Got a feeling Mr. Shaw is in another sweater by midnight. - John Jaeckel
Yup sad to say...Shaw is gone. Happy for him to get paid especially with his injury history. As several have said he needs to take the money now. He's earned it no question.
Also as several have said the key should be to lock up Panarin - the sooner the better or you've got another Saad disaster on your hands Stanley.
Nice to see the local beat guys and gays (I mean the Hawks PR machine) crank up on call from McD and company...
Also great to see Dollar Bill's cap frankin' what Rocky has finally built. Bettman will be thrilled with those finals ratings again this coming season...

Prediction:
Shaw will be packaged along with another more popular player. They are making Shaw persona non grata in order to make the other part of the medicine go down a little easier. |

this is the inherent problem. It all depend on how much we weigh in what kruger does. - the_dough_boy
Exactly....not what he could do IF he ever lived up to the offensive upside many allude to, but what he has done in his career.......that's all I am saying.
Remember, in 2013 the Hawks gave David Bolland a shot at 2c and that blew up in their face, they traded for cement shoes, Handzus, and then sent Bolland packing.
Lets hope Kruger can find the twine for the first time since June of 2015. |

To where?
My guess is Shaw + Crawford or Shaw + Kruger.
Hard to imagine the ladder though as all of a sudden the Hawks are thin at the pivot |

Nope. One last shot to devalue him on the open market by disclosing his terms as unreasonable and any other team picking him up risks that they won't be able to agree on a salary. |

If he can reach his past performances in points, I think his contract is a win.

Damn you darth........
Just dawned on me....as much as I despised Bolland, that's much I love me some Andrew Shaw....feel like I'm contradicting myself a bit..... |

I just Tweeted this...
@MarkLazerus Chatter in summer of 2010 was Antti Niemi was looking for
$4.5-$5 mill per....That one missed the mark by about 60%.

For the sake of the hawks....I hope so.
I just have strong doubts he will....I just dont' see it in his game.
Now I'll go on to get grilled by the KOOGA folks.........Don't get me wrong, I like his play for what he is, just feel his deal sucks. Not team friendly. At all. |

I wonder if the Hawks ever thought of packaging Shaw's rights, instead of TT, in the Bickell deal? Hard to say now, after the fact, but I wonder if that ever came up.

I think 3.5 to 3.75 is fair. Based on comparables. |

In terms of what? That could be a good thing. He may be willing to take contact, go to the net, take a shot from the slot, etc...
It all depends on how he acclimated to the system. |

Good! Maybe he can take a hit and stay on his feet or better yet doesn't skate away from the play just to avoid being checked like a little female dog. Teravinen should try out for Disney on Ice, it suits his demeanor much more than US pro hockey. |
