Haha I'm really aggravated with tonight but this team is no where near that debacle. |

I think AZ paid a steep price to move up 4 spots. Swapped picks and adding the 2nd is a trade you see, but they shouldn't of had to give up that 2nd for taking on Datsyuk. If it were swapping 1st and adding the 2nd fine. But to take on Datsyuk contract basically for free is crazy to me. |

I agree, that new GM got absolutely burned by Detroit, I can't believe how lucky the Wings are |

If the Yotes have the cap space, why does it matter for them if they take on Datysuk's deal? Only one year left, and you are not paying the actual money because he's retiring.
Seems like a good deal for both sides to me, assuming he Yotes aren't spending to the cap this year. Do I have this wrong?

I tend to agree with you. Arizona walked out of the draft with the most underrated player in my mind in Keller. If he was 6'1" he was a top 3 pick. Then to add Chychrun too? Tough for me to call last night a loss for the Coyotes. |

I just think the Yotes could have held up the Wings for more than they got, considering the Wings were desperate
To move up from 20 to 16, they took Datsyuk, and also gave up the 53rd pick
but, it artificially gets the Coyotes closer to the cap floor without spending money and I guess that's gold to them |

They basically lost $7 million in cap space next year that they are unlikely to use anyway, not even having to pay the actual salary -- ie they lost nothing. It's not like they acquired a guy with 4-5 years left on a deal. So, basically they lost nothing, unless I'm missing something. |

Forget about the 53rd pick, so my statement they lost nothing isn't entirely true. But still think it wasn't a big deal for Yotes.
Awesome deal for Wings. |

I drive by the new arena they are constructing every day. It's amazing how fast that thing is going up. Couple that with the fact that Dan Gilbert has bought every building in the city, maybe they can sell him on a resurgence of Detroit. |

Meant to ask earlier in the season, why did Lindberg hardly played in the second half?

we are a facade of a team.... Chicago know s how to get it done..
every yr they shake up what needs to be thinned or contracts
need to be sold off... 1 2 3 he bangs out deals goin back to bickel to carolina deal
NYR by not movin all the "past there time here or too much money " or just not the right chemistry here.
Facts : we need a top center :not to 1 a center who almost have the talent
BUT dont:
we have a slower aging D line that is expensive:selling experience here !
we will not be a top team as built : my vision of this yr is waning already ....
when NYR acts like Chi = stanley cups.....sorry we aint movin on the only
player you can build a new core around ......
Datsyuk deal to AZ ? why cap space for AZ ..he aint playin in AZ

Chicago has that luxury because of the 3 cups, Kane, Toews and Keith.
They just lost Teravainen, Shaw and Bickel to due to the cap. |

Who I'd be happy with the Rangers draft in round 3;
Igor Shvyryov : Skilled Russian center. At least 2 years away, but will be a nice little insurance policy if the Rangers trade Stepan and don't get Stamkos.
Eetu Tuulola: 6'4 227lb power forward out of Finland. Will have a chance to show his skills on WJ stage with Laine, Aho, Saarela departing. Has played against men of the Liiga and shoots Right Handed. He's the one I'd be happiest with
Luke Green: Saint John of the Q. RH d-man who' has a a good season the one previous before this one. Injury bug hit him a bit this year. Scouting report has him as one of the best shot selectors from the blue line. 6'1, 190lb. |

Yeah. That team needed center depth. They have enough on the wing. |

They had to give away Nick Leddy too. And Brandon saad. Every summer they will have to do this and a lot of it is due to their ridiculous Hossa contract.
