If Ek is correct then Shatty's trade price is going up. If the Oilers say negotiate an extension then a 4th round pick is not enough. Why because everyone knows a draft pick is still a high gamble with only a select few players looking like they are not a gamble.

The best scenario would be him going to Edmonton the fourth plus coming here.

Then which St. Louis product in the first round do you take? Tkachuk, Brown, Keller.....

If the Blues keep their pick can they trade up to snatch Kunin?

These are all really good players coming out of St. Louis so load up pn them while you can.

Edit: Perhaps the Oilers would also like Elliott included. It would be a smart move for them to insure they have at least one goaltender playing great.

I also like Yakupov. I think he got screwed early on in Edmonton and it ispossible he has had a tough time then with trust and fitting back in. But that kind of speed is an asset.

Nilsson is a viable backup imho as well. Probably only want him getting 25 games or so but a viable #2 (note not a 1B).

The Blues have 3 NHL capable netminders. Are any of them Elite? Statistics suggest perhaps so but how much of that is due to system and team? Would you feel more comfortable with 2 of their 3 vs Darling and a TBD goalie which Chicago would be looking at if they trade CC?

From what i read they already offered something to Army for Shatty supposedly involving a pick and Army turned it down. I am guessing it was the 29th.

Army is waiting to hear from edmonton i think for that #4
