He makes them better. That's why they got Andersen too.

He knows a thing or two about playing hockey, he could probably mentor some of the kids that are slated to be stars.

Cap is not an issue, I misspoke when I said 18 million coming off the books after 2016-2017. It's more like over 20 million.

I don't see the downside.

It's actually a lot of fun during the summer. Loving it these days. When winter comes around again, only watching the habs lose gives me pleasure.

He probably was around during the Gilmour days. We were contenders back then, and again in the later 90's with Sundin and friends.

The Leafs really only started to suck when all their core players got old at the same time as our previous strategy(sign vets, trade youth for vets) became obsolete in the salary cap/entry level contract era of the NHL.

A smart team doesn't go to two drafts with top 5 picks then declare they have enough good players to start going for it... That's what signing Stamkos means..

Andersen was a good trade but the term was stupid.

Signing a 26 year old superstar free agent isn't like trading for Phil Kessel in my mind.

okay.. If you think Matthews and Marner arent going to be special thats fine, you're entitled to your opinion.

Theres a lot of factors that make the Leafs far better than last year.. the biggest thing is goaltending. thats huge. The leafs lost a ton of one goal games. JVR should be healthy hopefully all year.. thats like 40pts we didnt get out of him last year.. Matthews is going to contribute for sure.. he should hopefully get 60ish pts.. Marner and Nylander are also ready to step in.. these guys arent going to be given spots, they have to earn them.. so if the earn them then they are better than the guys they are replacing.. Zaitsev and Carrick are going to shore up the D.. again, if you want to argue that they havent played many games thats fine, you're entitled to that... but theres no reason to think they wont be major factors..
