I'm just getting a little tired of this doomsday narrative.

Let's be honest: the first thing that the UK (or lone England) will do is negotiate trade agreements with the EU.

They already maintain a separate fiscal policy.

They will now be able to stem the tide of immigration - which was having a drag on their economy due to their social programs.

It really wasn't though. On the whole, those immigrating brought more value into the economy than they took out. When I was a kid it was all about the folks from India and Pakistan coming in to take all the jobs. Later, it was all about the folks from Poland and Turkey doing the same. The common theme? A group of lazy bastard Brits who would rather sit on their arse and collect welfare than get up and work.

And the EU has already allegedly indicated that it's not in any hurry to do the UK any favours with regards to negotiating the exit, or the policies that come from it.
