Just get rid of Therrien first ... the DD problem will go away with a sane coach at the helm.
- Garfield512

Yeah but we all know Bergevin won't do that. Therrien is his BFF.

What is he adding to the team? Grit and character? That's all they have, and it isn't working

And we gave 2 second round picks for that? ... he better be cheaper than Eller in terms of $$$.

All that's left to do now is get rid of DD so Therrien can stop favoring him over Galchenyuk.
- maxbart5

Didn't DD start (and played most of the season) on the 3rd line last year?
Yeah... so give it a rest will you.

Not the same type of player. Shaw plays with way more grit.

Easy to accomplish you will say, but still...

The offence on top of the chart is hardly advanced stats. Anyone who expects more offence from Shaw than Eller gave us is out to lunch

We need offence though, what good is grit doing us?

I'm still trying to figure out what grit you are referring to?

Grit is just another term people use when a player isn't good at actually playing hockey, see also: Character

The team doesn't have a lot of either. The one thing that could make this a bad trade is the $. Gallagher and Shaw are going to piss a lot of people off.

Thats fair, and I'll admit that will be fun to watch. But unless the Habs do something about scoring goals they're going to piss off a lot of fans with a lack of winning. I just think picks 39 and 45 could have been at least a significant part of a package to address it.

Seems like a good pick to me ... looks like the kid has a booming shot.
Markov's future replacement?

Him and PK on the PP would be quite a threat from the blue line.

Along with last year's pick (Noah Juulsen), seems like our blue line is slowly taking shape.

But man, we'll need to address our deficiencies in the top 6 soon.

I guess. I think if there's a big change in that it will mostly come from Muller.

Depends on cap hit, if it's reasonable my only complaint will be they added him instead of offence. But if it's north of 3, or even worse, around the rumoured 4.5, I think it's awful on all fronts

Sergachev's coach in Windsor said he wouldn't be surprised to not have him back with the team next season
