Which is why I don't believe a word of it no matter what Tomlinson says, maybe that's what Benning is offering, but I can for sure think that there's no way the Habs would take that deal if that's the case. They'd want that as a starting point and probably would want Bo as well which makes it unpalatable.

Agreed. It is all Vancouver could afford, but i would be bummed if i was a Mtl fan and this was all that was coming back...unless of course the Habs used the cap space to snag someone else...Stamkos for example. That would appease the masses.

I was thinking this too, Bo is the only thing I can see them really wanting. Let's them trade Plakanec and free up further space. If it was Bo Tanev and the 5th, we might be talking turkey. Think I would still do that deal if I'm JB, but it gives me a lot more pause.

Bottom line, with expansion coming and with our cupboards still relatively bare of decent potential top 6 prospects, Subban is too expensive.

Hartnell has also played fewer games than Lucic.

I'm not saying Canucks should get Hartnell, but he could be a good value pick-up for some team. He's not just a cap dump.

I agree with this completely. I think my desire for a true 1D in canucks bluejust makes me bias, but its likely the wrong deal at the right time. We need to take the long road, hopefully anohter top 10 next year and keep building.

Subban is arguably a top 5 defenseman in the league. You are saying that Montreal would accept Draisaitl (who has thus far had only one decent season) and a draft pick (who could ultimately end up being a bust) for a proven, top consistent performer?? especially when there is a huge premium to be paid for in terms of finding such quality players that play this difficult position? All I can say is, Montreal fans would riot if that deal was consummated
