Could you imagine if they didn't change the draft lottery and we got third pick like we were supposed to?

She's not my biological child. I have been the only father for 4.5 years now. (she will be 6 in Sept). There are lots of times, i'd accept your offer

I feel for you. My wife always breaks things too. So if you know someone? I am not that close.

Tomorrow will either be very exciting with the trades done, or very disappointing because GM's too chicken sh!t to pull the trigger.

I think something will happen for sure. Just not sure if it will be involving the Canucks or not...

In their lies my problem. She's not acting out. No tantrums. She isn't intentionally doing things wrong. Example I have lever door handles. She yanked down so hard she broke it. Went to get a drink out of the fridge but instead of pulling on the handle out, she pulled it sideways and broke it. Just things like that. It's not some new found strength either. Knocking over her drink at the table has happened 4 times in the past 3 days. Went to get something from the island and managed to knock my iPad off. It survived, somehow.

I guess she has to help clean up messes she makes, even if it is unintentional... sounds like she is pushing the boundaries a bit. Wanting some attention? But I'm no expert.

If she breaks something, say you can't afford ice cream or what ever little treat she likes getting because you have to pay for repairs...

She is an only child. As a female she definitely knows how to push buttons. She's got a bad attitude sometimes and usually it's obvious when she is doing something to piss you off. Her Mother has started a practicum so she isn't around in the mornings or evenings. Not as if she has never spent time alone with me before. I think i'll see if I can get snipped tomorrow. Don't know if I want to handle another one.

I actually hope MTL gets 4OA somehow. Only way we have a chance at JP. CBJ may pass on him if rumors are true on not being sold, and MTL is taking Dubois if they have the chance for sure.

I only have one son, now a teenager, never had much of a problem with him, always seemed like a reasonable kid... he had a few time outs when he acted up as a kid and that was about it.

So easy for me to say how to deal with it, never had to deal with it on your scale, but if she is forgetting how to do simple things, maybe scale back on allowing her to do those simple things because she isn't able to do those things without breaking stuff...

most kids want to be treated like little adults, but if they can't act like little adults, I think you can get their attention by treating them like a little baby.

She's one of those children where if they aren't evolving she gets bored and actually gets in trouble. School said that they were having trouble keeping her going while keeping the other kids caught up. (not saying she is a brainiac or anything). She always tells us that she's capable of doing everything on her own and doesn't need her mother or I. Tell her okay then she can do her own laundry and feed herself then, normal things a parent does for a kid her age. She struggles and gets frustrated (quite easily with things she doesn't get immediately) and says sorry and asks for things properly.

Yeah he just said she's at an awkward stage where he mind is ahead of her body. I don't believe him. I just want her to stop making me and her mother go WTF all day long.

here's what you do....you thank heaven that that's ALL IT IS and not yet teenage female issues. My god you will look back on this day and laugh hysterically that this is all it was that got you wound. You will gladly have the 5 yr old back.

advice wise....ask grandma what to do, they know everything about raising children

Yes, Yes it is. I feel as if she is taking after me as a child. Even though she has none of my ginger genetics.

I guess keep challenging her with stuff, I don't know, my wife was like a helicopter mom to my son and her mom was even worse, wanting to do everything for him...

I had to go online and find one of these chores for 5 year old's charts,
http://www.focusonthefami...up/age-appropriate-chores
this wasn't the same chart I remember seeing, but similar, and both were shocked, looking at me as if I was some sort of child abuser for thinking my son should be able to do some/most of this stuff.

it is all trial and error and reinforcing good behaviour and reinforcing trying to do it right.

good luck.

My grandmother looked like John Garrett. When I showed people pictures of my grandparents my friends would say she looked like a man. I told them my grandparents were gay
