If you move Crawford to free up dollars to sign Lucic, then where does the money come from to re-sign Panarin? - Hank_Greenberg
Anisimov or Kruger shipped out too? Idk how they add any contract over $3mil even if they do move Crow's full $6mil....but a guy can dream right?? |

Exactly.
The other thing is the 1st year, maybe 2nd year it may a "cool" thing for some high rollers or out of towners to be comp'd and go to a hockey game but I dont' go to Vegas to go see UNLV basketball or football. And given the popularity discrepancy between NHL and the other big 3, I dont' see many casual fans flocking there to go see a hockey game.
Think about the size of the arena they built.....that's almost half to what the UC or Montreal sells out for.
The cap next year will be flat or slightly down baring a MAJOR rebound with the Canadian dollar. Something Bettman said was THE reason Quebec City was passed by. - SteveRain
It seats 17,368 for hockey. That's a long way from half

Vegas gets something like 3.5 million tourists per month. All they have to do is promote hockey like they do the shows and they will have no problem selling out. - JRoenick97
EXACTLY--- the question is how many tickets will be used as 'comps' and will they circumvent the box office gross to negatively impact the HRR numbers-- |

Living here...I disagree. They sold the season tickets rather fast to a lot of average people here that love hockey and consistently make trips to CA to see games. MUCH more than they do to AZ which is about the same distance.
Also, once the many, many casinos scoop up tickets and include them in room/trip packages, they'll do fine.
Any show you want to see on the strip that have been here for years you're not seeing for less than $100 a ticket.
Attendance will not be a problem. - PatShart
Everyone draws right away...We will see in year 3.
I don't see people I know making it a priority going to Vegas to watch a game.
They won't sell out all the time if you are going by fannies in the seats.

They both fit the description but Lucic is more physical and 2 years younger. I'm lobbying for Milan with 19-81 - EnzoD
Ladd's no bad ass. Ask anyone who has ever played high level competitive hockey, you always want the baddest man on the ice on YOUR side. Let's you play a little bigger, tends to let you have just a bit more time and space while the guy checking you thinks twice. For a guy like Toews, getting just a bit more time and space is all he needs. And a guy that has his back is a feel good.
How bout it Enzo, if you played for TI I'm thinking you'll agree. |

I think Vegas will be a big success. I know I'll be taking an annual trip there to gamble and watch the Hawks! Would you rather watch the same old Vegas Strip act or go catch a hockey game one of your nights in Vegas? Plus, they have youth hockey roots and this will only help grow that program in Nevada. I'm optimistic about the new Vegas team. I'm still not a fan of Black Knights though... |

Lazerus did too. That's the one thing I don't get about him, I don't doubt that he's basically a Hawks employee and I'm not sure how many articles the sun times publishes of his that are like this, but on his Twitter he can be very critical of the Hawks front office. He was all over them the entire Kane mess, had lots to say about how the Hawks missed an opportunity to send a message with the Ross thing, Hawks are losing their female fans and enlightened male fans, that they're gonna regret the TT trade, etc. Certainly not things I ever see Myers say - maria_wyeth

Who was that guy in 2014?
Who was that guy in 2012?
How much jam did the line of TT-Vermette-Sharp have? Forget the jam, give me speed and finishers. - DMCsPulledHammy
I think you mean the 2013 and 2015 cup year? Did you miss Bickell in 2015 hitting everything in sight for the first part of the playoffs?2013 the answer would also be Bickell who arguably should have won Conn Smythe. Those type of power forwards help you win Stanley Cups. Period.
That is why they went out and got Laad last year. Did you miss what Brouwer did to us in the Blues series? Maybe go ask Seabrook how some of those hits felt. He also scored big goals and was in Crawfords kitchen the entire series.
A Lucic type power forward with top 6 skill is exactly what we need. The issue is should they risk paying him 6 mil for 4-5 years? That amount and term scares me a bit. |

With the odds of Lucic staying in the West as a UFA, you're darn right you want that guy on your side! Lucic is a freight train with talent, has stayed healthy his entire career, and will hopefully force a plug like Mashinter out of the lineup. I'd love the acquisition, but I'm hoping he goes East if the Hawks can't get him. He's a punishing physical player and can hurt you on the scoreboard too. |

Why won't casinos buy the tickets and then "comp" their high rollers? They don't own the team like they own the stages that all of the performances take place on. |

I think that same cousin of his was involved each of the times he got in trouble and I'm sure you're right and he has some enabling friends back in buffalo as well. It certainly appears he's staying sober in Chicago and that's never been the case in buffalo - maria_wyeth
Last night I thought I heard Kane give a mention to someone back in Buffalo--?
IMO He just looked more mature and responsible being with his family and girlfriend-- but the transition from party boy to adult has played out in the public eye--

What makes more sense, Lucic at $6 million or Shaw at $3.5? I'll take Shaw at $3.5. - DarthKane
Depends on the length of the contract for me. If Lucic would go for a one or two year deal, then I can justify the idea of paying him $6 million per season. |

Last night when accepting one of the awards-- I thought I heard that he gave a 'shout out' to someone back in Buffalo-- maybe a cousin? - jb3333
Yeah he mentioned something like that. You have to think that if that's the case, his cousin being present during these slip ups, that he has had some lashings from the inner circle about his involvement. It has to stop but I think Kaner understands that he has gotten a chance to be the face of the league in the US again and enough is enough. |
