You ever coach OMHA AAA?
My 10yr old son is playing on the Coyotes next year and I heard the reffing is way better in the O over the G. G refs are a gong show. - Cooshie
Never reffed or coached in either league. Faced off against OMHA teams a few times at OHF in various 'A' championships.
I reffed and played and coached in NOHA(northern Ontario) We live so far into the forest that we are irrelevant. AAA only exists at major midget and it requires kids from towns within a 500km radius coming to our town to play. And even then, the top players are usually minor or underagers that are too good play on local A teams(or less).
I ref now in Ottawa and we don't participate with the rest of ontario for some reason.(travel) Since moving here last year I hard to earn my spot on the depth chart(last season I was no longer head ref at midget AAA and lines for Junior.) I was head ref at Peewee AAA and lines for midget AAA.
Anyways, I wish the best for your son in the OMHA. Atom and Peewee are the fun years...after that it gets very intense! |

Devils need scoring. How about Gardiner, Kapanen and Percy for Larsson. I think Connor Carrick could step into that 2nd PP role that Gards has. Leafs could then sign someone like Polak for the back end.
I could still see Bozak being traded. I also think the Leafs move Michalek at some point.
JVR-Stammer-Marner
Nylander-Matthews-Brown
Komagod-Kadri-Soshnikov
Greening-Laich-Hyman
Rielly-Larsson
Carrick-Zaitsev
Polak-Harrington

No they wouldn't. No team would be foolish to trade anyone on their team - it all depends on what the return is, plain and simple. - Cooshie
Agreed, but that's usually implied with trade conversation. If Snow wanted to do Tavares for JVR straight up, obviously big Lou'd be all over it. |

If I were NJ, I would say not a chance. I want someone proven. Gardiner is not really a top 4, Kaps was benched in the AHL playoffs and Percy may not even be a 3rd pairing NHL dman.
To get a player like Larsson, it's going to be painful - like JVR plus painful.
I get that many don't want to see JVR go (I to don't want to see him go)....But for Larsson, it's worth it. Larsson and Rielly could be our top pairing 24min a game guys for the next decade and make us great for it. |

LOL - True, hell, I'd bend over right next to Lou if need be.
But Leafs need a top pairing tough dman to play with Rielly more than the need JVR. We have no one in the pipes that fits that description. If you can turn JVR into that player, I don't think you hesitate. Just my opinion. |

Leafs are in no position to trade JVR imo. They want something proven then take Bozak and his 40-50 points. Larsson is not worth JVR imo. He's not even 25 yet, he could easily take a step back instead of forward. |

If the Leafs do manage to get Stamkos it'd be stupid to trade jvr. Getting Stamkos speeds up the rebuild a bit making us competitive right away without hurting the rebuild long term since we're not giving up any assets. Jvr is the only top line winger we have to play with him right now.

Thanks!!
We already got the sit down talk from our coach:
"I am not your friend, you are not my friend, we will not be having beers together after any games. I am here for your kids, not for you - I strongly advise you to remember that"
We haven't even had a practice yet!! LMFAO
Going to be interesting year coming up.

Lou said himself that even if they take a step backwards, it's a move to go forward. That a plan is in place and they are very confident in it. This makes me think that the true prize is the other #91 next year.

Larsson is the real deal......by the time he is 25, he will be one of the top 3 dmen in the NHL. |

Larsson and trouba are both overrated. |

Larsson was considered a bust till this year where he put up a whopping 18pts. |

I don't particularly want to trade anyone that has a good contract and value at this point in time. It's going to be a different team next year and Babcock's second year. Yeah we need D but we're not winning the Cup next year so it's really not urgent. I'd rather fire it up and see what happens. Patience. The Leafs have added some key pieces pretty quickly, but their mantra has been patience and don't get overeager and make a move just for the sake of it, which I agree with. |

That was my thought as well. I think he will become a great defender, but he's no where near worth JVR. |

How did Pittsburgh's coach not win, the team was underachieving and when he came in they became unstoppable. |

I am SHOCKED Michel Therrien didn't win it, he managed the greatest fiasco in Habs history. |

As we discussed on Sportscentre...and really no surprise, consider Lucic and Eriksson high priority for Canucks. They want at least 1 of 2.

The Habs' death spiral last year was so Leafy. Il était comme un rouleur dix-huit ans allant d'une falaise! |
